There are many rules in the Medicare system. This client got caught by a Medicare rule which caused an ambulance bill for $640 that Medicare would not help to cover. A few years ago, I warned seniors that the federal government would gradually change rules about Medicare to save the federal government money and push more medical costs back onto senior citizens.

I phoned the client’s Medicare supplement insurance company to learn what it knew of these claims. It reported that Medicare never sent these claims to it. Then, with our client, I phoned Medicare to learn about these claims. According to the Medicare representative, the x-ray firm never filed the claims with Medicare at all. That is a serious error or fraud.

I was flattered and honored that a think tank based in D.C. noticed my articles on Medicare problems and thought enough of my writing to ask for my help.
