South Dakota Citizens for Liberty recently released their Second Amendment scorecard, scoring the 2017 South Dakota legislature on Second Amendment issues.

In the United States, we cherish our fundamental, Second Amendment-protected right to keep and bear arms for defensive purposes (yes, hunting and recreation, too). Along with that right comes a great deal of responsibility, including the duty to be knowledgeable in the use and safe handling of our guns. We must also cultivate the mental preparedness for possibly having to use our gun to defend our lives or the lives those around us.

The National Rifle Association (NRA) is taking the unusual action of getting behind an override of South Dakota RINO Governor Dennis Daugaard’s veto of Second Amendment legislation from the 2017 South Dakota legislative session.

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley, Secretary of State Shantel Krebs and the South Dakota Sheriff’s Association confirm the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has determined that South Dakota’s Gold Card Concealed Pistol Permit and Enhanced Permit to Carry a Concealed Pistol qualify as alternatives to the background check requirement for firearm purchases.

We need to regulate the government from its insubordination to its God-given duty of “securing the rights of the people.” This insubordination called “gun control” has proven to be far more lethal to American life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness than the criminals from which it claims to protect.

Today, South Dakota Secretary of State Shantel Krebs announced that concealed carry weapon permits issued reached an all-time high. “South Dakota has set an all-time high for new and renewed concealed carry weapon permits issued for the year at 30,029,” stated Secretary Krebs.

While the Left and the media continually carp about “gun violence,” what’s really happening in the U.S. is the inevitable result of the government’s continuing idiocy on race. We don’t have a gun violence problem in this country; what we have is a government-created social problem, where a significant portion of the black community in this nation rejects our traditional standards of morality and our laws, and are largely allowed to get away with it.

Barack Hussein Obama, along with his incompetent outlaws, has set his sights on law-abiding gun owners in an attempt to “infringe” upon rights (Amendment 2 Bill of Rights) during his last year of his incumbency. He is doing this with permission from the American people in violation of the law.

When the Second Amendment was first considered by Congress, not only was an armed citizenry taken as a given, it was viewed as an essential check on the tyrannical exercise of federal power, particularly by a standing army.
