Obergefell and Roe: America’s Statutes of Omri

Neil Gorsuch from SCOTUS hearings (CSPAN)

While America is holding its breath on the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to become the next Supreme Court justice, it has become abundantly clear that he may not be all that he is cracked up to be.

Looking closely at his answers given to the senators and congressmen conducting the confirmation hearings have sent up red flags for all those hoping that Gorsuch will be the hero who halts abortions and reels in the excesses of the LBGT, namely Obergefell.

Reporting for the Christian News Network, writer Heather Clark says in an article entitled, “U.S. Supreme Court Nominee Neil Gorsuch: ‘A Fetus Is Not a Person’ Under the Law” notes that when Senator Dick Durbin, D-Ill asked how Gorsuch could reconcile his belief that all human life is intrinsically valuable with his belief that Roe is settled in the law, Gorsuch answered with, “Abortion is different because the unborn are not legally recognized as people.”

If all of common sense, science, Biblical teaching and thousands of years of human acquiescence to the belief that when sperm meets egg, a human is on the way is no longer acceptable, we are forced to ask, if it is not human – what the blazes is it? It may not be “legal” but it is only and forever as human as it gets.

Clark also quoted America’s Party 2016 presidential candidate Tom Hoefling who said, “The way I look at it, no job is worth having for which you have to hitch your wagon to genocide, and dehumanize tens of millions of innocent little boys and girls, and defy God and nature and the Constitution, and support a coup d’état by pretending that we live in a judicial oligarchy instead of in a free constitutional republic,” Hoefling also pointed to the bible quotation from Mark 8: 36, which says, “For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?”

Clark also noted that Gorsuch belongs to a liberal church, St John’s Episcopal of Boulder, Colorado whose pastor, Susan Springer, has declared to her congregation that she stands in league with the marriage of same sex couples.

The Washington Post reported that Susan Springer has declared for faux-marriage and many in her denomination have broken away to the Anglican Church as a result.

Others such as WND’s Paul Bremmer cited Daniel Horowitz for saying, “Republican nominees rarely assure the public of where they stand on controversial issues during their confirmation hearings, whereas Democratic nominees usually affirm their liberal orthodoxy during their hearings.

The idea that Gorsuch is remaining stealth on his deepest opinions may be so that future cases will not be tainted, but this is only speculation. When it comes to help for the pro-life movement, Gorsuch may be far less than is hoped for.

Author Geri Ungurean takes a far more candid approach. In a piece found in The Olive Branch Report, Ungurean says, “I am a solid Conservative woman. I would not attend a church which accepted same sex marriage as “normal” and has performed same sex unions since the 1980’s and same sex marriages since the SCOTUS decision. I would also never attend a church which hates Israel (All Episcopal churches are united on this).  It would just not even cross my mind to enter such a place.”

Many in what remains of the bible believing conservative church in America think exactly like Ms. Ungurean.

Acceptance of all that is error, heretical, politically correct and socially abhorrent has become the hallmark of the Democratic Party in our nation for about a generation now, but the doctrine of deep immorality has now been passed on to the young.

Young collegiate millennials may have swallowed the big liberal pill starting as freshmen, but the kind of faith that falls apart at the first attack by some lib professor wasn’t much to begin with.

Liberal professors may pander to the pathetic plebes and snowflakes of our liberal universities, but none of them possess the authority to dismiss the existence or the words of Christ about marriage or any of God’s immutable rulings. To wit:

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Mt 24: 35)

The sanctity of life and the order for marriage are part of those words. In fact, it is those words that will call every man and woman in our nation into direct confrontation with the Living God in the last day.

“And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” (Jn 12: 47-48)

The ancient prophet Micah (Michael) made reference to the statutes of Omri.  The man known only as Omri single-handedly caused the entire nation of Israel to dismiss the clear commandments of God and go after sexual deviancy and sacrificing their own children to idols. The golden era of Israel was brought down to dust and the nation did not regain its full independence again until 1948 after years of ignoring the warnings of God’s prophets against the statutes of Omri.

“For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.” (Micah 6: 16)

Obergefell and Roe are the evil statutes of Omri for America, only there will be no time for recovery if these evil rulings are allowed to continue for much longer.

We believe Donald Trump when he says he wants to make our nation great again, but his are not the only words we should be listening to. The time for God’s patience has its limitations.

We must also hear these most serious words as well!

“And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.” (Jer 18: 9-10)

God made no exceptions for Israel and he will make no exceptions for the United States.
