Good, Bad, Ugly, Mar. 10-16

While President Donald Trump has told us he wants to spend $1 TRILLION in mostly if not entirely unconstitutional infrastructure expenditures, at least he has proposed a discretionary spending budget (remember, this is the 1/3 of our budget which is usually the somewhat constitutional part, NOT the 2/3 which is unconstitutional big government welfare state spending) that, while maintaining current spending levels ($1.065 TRILLION), shifts $54 billion from non-defense spending to defense spending.

According to the Resurgent, the proposed budget would eliminate federal taxpayer spending on the unconstitutional Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the National Endowment for the Arts, and would bring major cuts to the budgets of the State Department, EPA, HUD, and other executive departments (some of these could and should be eliminated entirely).

While it’s a modest “good,” credit should be given where it’s due.  Most “Republicans” wet their pants at the thought of defunding the taxpayer-funded liberal propaganda arm known as Public Broadcasting, so I’ll at least give Trump props for proposing it.

What will truly be interesting to see is whether (a) congress can find the intestinal fortitude to follow through on the proposal with acuatal law, and (b) if they don’t, will Trump go to the mat (like he led us to believe he would in the campaign) to browbeat the gutless RINOs who run congress into actually defending the Constitution and the taxpayer’s interest.

Congressional “Republicans” continue to stand around with their thumbs stuck up unbecoming places instead of repealing the unconstitutional health care trainwreck known as ObamaCare-you know, the thing they’ve been telling us since 2010 they’d repeal if we gave them power?  The thing they voted some 50 times to repeal during President Obama’s regime, but now can’t seem to manage to actually do with a “Republican” in the White House who has pledged to sign a repeal bill.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is (as usual) right: “If Republicans take this opportunity and blow it, we will rightly be considered a laughingstock.” The truly sad part is, the “Republican” idiots running congress are too stupid (or arrogant?) to realize that.  They’re too bereft of wisdom to realize that, even if they don’t want to repeal that unconstitutional monstrosity on principle, common sense would dictate they repeal it out of pragmatic concern for preserving their power-because if they screw this up (and there’s every reason to believe they will), the American people will throw them out on their keister’s like they did when Republicans couldn’t pull their heads out in 2006 and 2008…ushering in the reign of anti-American Marxists who will go pedal-to-the-metal to finish off the American experiment in liberty and self-government.

Um, yeah, about that claim by Donald Trump about repealing ObamaCare?  And remember that turd of a RINOCare plan I discussed here last week?

Yeah, well, President Trump is threatening to primary any conservative who refuses to back RINOCare.

From the Washington Examiner:

President Trump has told Republican leaders that he’s prepared to play hardball with congressional conservatives to pass the GOP healthcare bill, including by supporting the 2018 primary challengers of any Republican who votes against the bill.

Sources told the Washington Examiner that Trump made that threat in a White House meeting on Tuesday with House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and other members of the House GOP whip team that helps line up votes.

With “Republicans” to sell us out and ram unconstitutional mandates and health care boondoggles down our throats, who needs Democrats?
