Why We’ll Never Bake your Fake ‘Wedding’ Cake

counterfeit_marriageDear homosexual,

We are your fellow sinners and no better than you. We know this. We are saved from eternal torment, self-wrought, by the grace of Christ alone. If you are an unrepentant, “out and proud” homosexual practitioner, then you are not. It is our deepest prayer that you, too, will accept the free gift of eternal salvation, repent and “go and sin no more.”

The alternative is a living hell.

Let us be direct. According to the unequivocal moral precepts of biblical Christianity, explicit throughout both the Old and New Testaments, your homosexual behavior is sin. Sin is evil. Homosexual behavior is the central, defining characteristic of your counterfeit “gay marriage.” Therefore, “gay marriage” is evil. Christians are obligated to avoid sin – to “do no evil.” “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality. …” (1 Corinthians 6:9).

It really is that simple. This is why, as faithful Christians (apostate “Christians” notwithstanding), we will never have anything whatsoever to do with your pagan, sin-based “same-sex wedding” rituals.

We will not bake your fake wedding cake.

We will not arrange your fake wedding flowers.

We will not take your fake wedding pictures.

We will not host your fake wedding reception.

We will not do these things because to do these things is to disobey God. It is to aid you in your sin, to cause you to stumble, which, in and of itself, is to layer sin upon sin. “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble” (Luke 17:2).

While we all fall short of His glory, the history of God’s people has shown that no unjust law presuming to force us to do otherwise, will ever make us disobey God in this or any other regard. We realize that forcing others to affirm that which offends God makes you feel better about your sin for a time. We also realize that it infuriates you when we refuse to join in as you attempt, ineffectively, to justify your wickedness by calling it “marriage.”

This is nothing new. We Christians have been infuriating pagans by refusing to bend on truth for over 2,000 years.

And we will continue to do so until Christ returns.

Children don’t like to be told “no.” They sometimes throw a fit when we don’t give them what they want. Still, when we know that some desire they may have is both wrong and harmful to them, we must tell them no.

They get over it.

You’ll get over it.

We’re telling you no because we love you with the love of Christ. But understand this: As we are so commanded, we must, and do, hate the evil conduct by which you define your identity. Sexual immorality – in this case self-destructive and disease-spreading sodomy, which violates the laws of nature and nature’s God – is a grave sin that will destroy you in both body and soul. You are deceived. It is not “who you are.” It is what you do.

And what you do is wrong. Period. Full stop.

If we as parents were to condone, support and even assist our children in the commission of a grave sin, of a wrong, what kind of parents would we be?

What kind of friend would we be to you if we condoned, supported or assisted you in the commission of your grave “gay marriage” sin?

Maybe this will help you to understand. Whereas, and while you may be in denial of this fact, sexual immorality is the central defining characteristic of your temptation-driven “gay” identity, Christ’s righteousness and our obedience to Him are, at least in part, central aspects of our Holy Spirit-gifted Christian identity.

You can financially ruin us, sue us, throw us in jail or even feed us to the lions, but we will never, under any circumstances, while empowered by the Holy Spirit, deliberately disobey God to please you or anyone else. “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

Of late, we Christians are especially inspired by one of our Christian sisters (and others who face similar trials). She is leading by example in her obedience to Christ.

“If Rob walked in the store today, I would hug him and catch up on his life. The same faith that tells me that I can’t be a part of Rob’s wedding is the same faith that tells me to love him as Christ does.”

And with this graceful, compassionate and very truthful statement, Barronelle Stutzman, the elderly grandmother and floral artist who faces financial ruin at the hands of both homosexual activists and the state of Washington, has at once mirrored the love of Christ and exhibited the heart of a lion.

Ms. Stutzman is the victim of anti-Christian persecution and discrimination. Her case has garnered national attention and represents a microcosm of the cultural Marxist effort in America to silence Christian dissent and compel us to join in sin. Barronelle is being sued by homosexual practitioner and longtime customer Rob Ingersoll for politely declining to create the floral arrangements for his mock “gay wedding.” She has been charged by Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson.

Because of the tremendous negative publicity Ferguson’s and Ingersoll’s persecution of Ms. Stutzman has generated, Ferguson recently offered, via press release, to quickly settle the case for $2,000 – as long as Ms. Stutzman would surrender her Christian freedom and right of conscience and promise, going forward, to sin. That is, to take-part in sodomy-based “marriages.”

Again, and with characteristic grace and courage, she flatly declined.

“[This conflict] is about freedom, not money,” wrote Ms. Stutzman in reply to the offer. “I certainly don’t relish the idea of losing my business, my home, and everything else that your lawsuit threatens to take from my family, but my freedom to honor God in doing what I do best is more important. Washington’s constitution guarantees us ‘freedom of conscience in all matters of religious sentiment.’ I cannot sell that precious freedom. You are asking me to walk in the way of a well-known betrayer, one who sold something of infinite worth for 30 pieces of silver. That is something I will not do.”

Truth, in love.

Dear “gay” friend, you will one day realize, hopefully before it becomes too late, that you are not only on the wrong side of history, you are on the wrong side of eternity.

It breaks our hearts to see you there.

And so we refuse to help send you.

Sincerely,

The Christians

Feel free to do whatever you like at home or in your church, but if you want to run a business that is open to the public you have to follow the laws established in your state. If not, you’ll be left telling everyone “you can financially ruin us, sue us, or throw us in jail” which will likely be your fate. But don’t worry, we don’t “feed us to the lions”anymore.

    • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

In other words, your private property (that you paid for, continue to pay for, and put yourself a financial risk for), isn’t really yours. It really belongs to the state.

The last I checked, that’s how Marxists operate, not Americans.

That kind of tyranny has no place in the United States, and no justification in the U.S. Constitution, where religious freedom is protected by the First Amendment, in a country founded by men who recognized the sacred nature of property and conscience:

Government is instituted to protect property of every sort. . . . [and] conscience is the most sacred of all property. – James Madison

No provision in our Constitution ought to be dearer to man than that which protects the rights of conscience. – Thomas Jefferson

Consciences of men are not the objects of human legislation. – New Jersey Governor William Livingston, signer of the U.S. Constitution

Security under our constitution is given to the rights of conscience. – John Jay, First Chief of U.S. Supreme Court, author of the Federalist Papers

It is sufficiently obvious, that persons and property are the two great subjects on which Governments are to act; and that the rights of persons, and the rights of property, are the objects, for the protection of which Government was instituted. These rights cannot well be separated. – James Madison

Conscience is the most sacred of all property. – James Madison

The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence. If `Thou shalt not covet’ and `Thou shalt not steal’ were not commandments of Heaven, they must be made inviolable precepts in every society before it can be civilized or made free. – John Adams

But since when have petty things like property and conscience ever mattered to tyrants?.

      • James Scott

Oh it’s still all “yours” but it’s just a simple fact that states can forbid you from operating your private property as a business that discriminates against the public based on the ancient superstitions you choose to believe in.

You can whine about marxism and tyranny all you’d like but it’s nothing new. It was the same for private business owners who wanted to discriminate based on race or discriminate against mixed race couples or discriminate against certain religions or discriminate against women. The list goes on and on.

Thanks for sharing just how little you know about the u.s. constitution, that was hilarious!

        • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

No, it is NOT a simple fact that government can force you to violate your conscience and force you to serve people that you do not want to serve. Not in a free country, as America was founded to be. The last time I checked, that was called slavery (something Democrats have for centuries been rather fond of).

No, Marxism and tyranny are nothing new. They are the kind of thing the founders of this great nation went to war against the most powerful empire on earth to rid ourselves of, and fought a bloody seven-year war to end on our own soil (though apparently some are very eager to re-implement their favorite brand of tyranny these days). We also stood against Marxism worldwide for several decades, and finally thanks to Ronald Reagan freed hundreds of millions of people from it worldwide (though some are very eager to impose it on the nation that freed so much of the world).

Also, you shouldn’t confuse discrimination on the basis of an immoral, unnatural and unhealthy sexual behavior (as well as the counterfeiting of society’s most important institution: marriage) with the discrimination perpetrated by the Left’s favorite party of record (the Democrat Party) against so many Americans in times past on the basis of an innate, morally-neutral physical characteristic.

The desire of Democrats to force people to do their will, and to trample on the God-given freedoms of Americans they don’t like, just keeps on going.

Oh, and as for those “superstitions” for which you have so much disdain, if you live in the United States, you owe the freedom and prosperity you enjoy here to those “superstitions” held by almost all of the founders of this nation. If you don’t believe me, check the Declaration of Independence and you’ll find to Whom you owe it all.

It’s very obvious to anyone who knows even the basics of the U.S. Constitution and the foundations of American government that it is you who is not only woefully ignorant of both, but are sadly very contemptuous of both.

          • James Scott

ha ha ha…it’s funny to see how angry you are…i realize it really frustrates and upsets you that marriage equality is so quickly becoming the law of the land…
wow, you can really babble on and on yet say very little of substance…
fortunately, i don’t owe anything to the ancient superstitions that choose to still cling to…
thanks again for all the laughs!

            • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

It should be upsetting to any decent patriotic American to see a vital institution like marriage counterfeiters, and to see the US Constitution and our heritage of freedom treated with such contempt.

However, I don’t look for such regret from you because you have demonstrated that you are neither decent nor a patriot. You’re simply behaving like the decadent tyrant you are.

              • James Scott

Marriage is just a legal contract and each state has always determined it’s own definitions of marriage.
and good luck with all that “patriotism” you claim to have, maybe someday it will be relevant to a discussion…

              • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

Marriage is vastly more than a simple legal contract, something every state and civilization has understood until recently being overtaken by judicial and other tyrants.

And patriotism and lack thereof speak for themselves when someone treats the very founding principles with pure contempt.

              • James Scott

ha ha ha ha ha…37 states now recognize marriage equality while you sit babbling about tyrants, patriotism, and founding principles

              • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

You mean about 37 states have had counterfeit marriage forced on them by judicial activist tyrants (the kind who also hold decency and the founding principles of freedom in contempt), when it was 40-something states voting to protect marriage when given a choice.

And yes, the founding principles are always worth extolling, for we owe our unparalleled liberty and prosperity to them.

A patriot would understand and appreciate that…while an enemy of the American way derides and laughs at them.

              • James Scott

that’s right, those 37 states with marriage equality…leaving only 13 left to go…so feel free to repeat the words tyrants, patriots, and founding principles over and over again as much as you’d like, it’s not going to change anything

            • WXRGina

You mistake Bob’s reasoned response to your homosexual propaganda as “anger.” He’s not angry. He’s simply correcting your fallacious “arguments.” You can “laugh” all you like, but you’re still dead wrong, and in the end none of this will be in the least bit funny.

              • James Scott

ha ha…all he’s doing is rambling on and on about marxism, tyranny, and even reagan…thanks again for the laughs and good luck pretending that you’re not angry as state after state begins to recognize marriage equality, it’s now 37 and counting…d’oh!

              • WXRGina

He isn’t “rambling,” and you are clearly unaware of how foolish your words are. Maybe one day you’ll come to a knowledge of Truth.

              • James Scott

i have zero interest in the “truth” you find in the ancient superstitions you still choose to believe in

              • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

That much is obvious. And since the founding principles of this great nation are based on the tenets of that “superstition” you hold in contempt, you also hold our nation’s founding principles in contempt. The connection is elemental and obvious. And reveals you as such a dunce as to stupidly despise the source of every meaningful blessing you enjoy. It doesn’t get much more pathetic than that.

              • James Scott

i realize you wish the “founding principles” of this nation were based on the tenets of whatever “ancient superstitions” you choose to still cling and worship but fortunately they were not…so i’ll let you get back to lamenting just how quickly this nation is embracing marriage equality for all…it’s obvious that it gives you plenty to be upset and angry about..

              • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

It’s now wish. I KNOW they were. And if you had the intellectual integrity to look in the founding documents and/or admit the truth found therein, so would you.

But you just aren’t interested in truth, period.

                So very sad.

But this isn’t a platform for you to demonstrate the Leftist dedication to ignoring fact and truth, so you can be on your way now.

              • Thisoldspouse

The fact that you don’t even recognize tyranny on sight is highly disturbing. We fought a Revolution to be free of fascists like you.

    • DCM7

I’ve read through your various posts, and… seriously? As is typical with your side of such discussions, you haven’t actually countered a single point that’s been made. Not one. All you’ve really said is that [1] you reject certain solidly-founded beliefs as “superstitions” because they get in your way (you certainly can’t give any rational basis for rejecting them, and you haven’t even tried); and [2] that your position is being reflected in the law, so nah-nanny-boo-boo! (Never mind that laws can be, and often are, unjust, and that the legality of something would mean nothing to you if you didn’t personally agree with it.)
Oh, yeah, and you’ve also thrown in the classic fallacy of equating race with sexual preference. (Like we haven’t already heard that a million times, and like we don’t know exactly why it’s 100% fallacious.)
You didn’t come here to make any point, but to mock and gloat because you think you’re getting your way.
Bob shouldn’t be wasting his breath (or typing effort) trying to reason with you.

      • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

        I won’t be anymore. :-)

    • DCM7

“Feel free to do whatever you like… in your church”
BTW, show me someone who starts out saying something like that, and I’ll show you someone who’ll eventually be on the side of those controlling what goes on in the church as well.

  • AC700

The problem is you cant manipulate legal systems and shut down debate and that’s the end….. WE shouldn’t put are own selfish motives above whats good and healthy for society. We must start with the issue of Redefinition of Marriage and The raising of Children…… What is the redefinition of marriage? What is the standard, who sets it and why/how? What is the standard in which children should be brought up - what is best for them (not most convenient for me!)…… we cant just skip the starting point and force compliance….. Bully tactics will never work…… Just because we have tarnished the true standard does not mean we must bury it…. May God bless all those who struggle with faith and their place before God…. We are all sinners! WE all need a radical transformation! America is not the problem, neither is the world, WE ARE!!!

Note don’t confuse me with the Troll……
At best if a person who baked wedding cakes ready made, instead of custom made had a ready made cake in their window for sale and a gay couple came in to buy it I would say you would have to sell it too them & it wouldn’t violate Christian Ethics.
Because you are not being made to craft a message you don’t like or make art for a message you don’t like.
You could by Christian ethics bake a cake in the style of a wedding cake but let the couple supply the male/male or female/female figurines on it & write the names of the couple.
But forcing a Christian or anybody to be direct participants in evil is wrong and should not be legal.

    • DCM7

Everyone knows, or should know, that this kind of thing has nothing to do with obtaining cakes and everything to do with trying to bully people into agreement and compliance.

    • Thisoldspouse

Forcing a business owner into ANY contractual relationship against their will is wrong, evil, and soundly UNAmerican.

    • franklinb23

Guest: Asking a Muslim to change or customize their product in a way that offends their conscience is not the same as asking them to provide to all customers the same products they offer to customers they happen to agree with or like.

Since some are really hung up on this, though, what if there was the following compromise:

Businesses should be free to discriminate against whomever they wish, but they must advertise this fact on both their store front and in their ads (fine print is fine).

Don’t like blacks, conservative Christians, Jews or gays? Fine. Put it in writing so no one wastes valuable time coming to you to ask for your business.

      Fair enough?

      • Thisoldspouse

perhaps you’d like “Juden”-style stars posted on shop windows, Nazi-style, for Christians.

Are you even cognizant of what you are suggesting?
