Trump: Our Faith-Filled David with a Slingshot…Or the Bragging King of Babylon?

Donald_TrumpWhile this comparison may seem all too rudimentary, it is not, considering the kinds of choices America has been making lately.

Really, a nation that thinks stuffing the lifeless bodies of 55 million little humans into medical waste receptacles is part of ‘women’s health?’ Are we indeed yet ‘Columbia the Gem of the Ocean’ or have we become the lifeless, stagnant, stinking waters of the great Sargasso Sea?

Then along comes the latest tryst between moral decadence and social trends in our turbulent history which produced the judicial lunacy known as Obergefell v. Hodges. Now, childless, Godless and perverted relationships are given the greenlight for some kind of artificial dignity among men, however feigned that may actually be.

Seeing this is why I am reticent to assume that we are all simply spot-on wise enough to make the simple comparison between a bragging king and a faith-filled shepherd boy from Israel.

There is no need for apologies (something Trump has taught us already), no disclaimers, no patronizing or mitigating is needed because the huff and puff is getting old; now we are looking for substance – not the kind that can be deposited in the bank.

Has the Donald already taken aim at the wrong giant?

Rebuild the military, take care of vets – yes, and it’s about time. Stop the border crisis – good stuff, also long overdue – but is that all there is to our nation?

Let’s see: Partial funding for Planned Parenthood and “It’s the law of the land” in response to Obergefell – a total and altogether unacceptable copout – just like what politicians have been giving us all along.

David picked one stone for his sling and flung it directly into the forehead of Israel’s greatest enemy leaving him stone cold dead.

Leaving Obergefell and abortion attached is the equivalent of hitting Goliath in the knee and proclaiming victory.

God’s economics is fully opposite of the Donald’s.  The moral hot button issues Trump will not or cannot face, are what God will judge us for;  the rest is superfluous, extraneous and can be handled by almost any of the other candidates in the race today.

The Bragging King who ate grass for supper – Is this the Donald?

Israel was taken captive by the ancient Babylonian (modern Iraq) conqueror known as Nebuchadnezzar. God sent his prophet Daniel to the king at the height of his rule to warn him that his bragging must stop.

Nebuchadnezzar was bragging to everyone on how he alone built his nation up from rags to riches and built many notable edifices and monuments. The prophet Daniel told him, that it was God alone that gave him the power to succeed and that, if he would not humble himself, he would be cast into the fields as a wild beast and eat grass for his sustenance.

He did not humble himself and the rest is history.

“And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.” (Da 4: 32)

Who will preside over the Economic Collapse after the Prevailing Moral Collapse?

I cannot say that the country will see a total economic crash because of the Donald or in spite of him. What I am sure of is that it is coming regardless of who wins the next election. I can add to that a promise that it will not be whisked away by any president, but we will endure the ravages of the decline as a people; not one person will be exempt.

We will pay the full price – we will eat the grass for supper, not the president.

If we elect a Godly statesman, he or she will lead us through the worst of times with dignity and courage befitting of our once great nation.

If we elect the bragging Donald, he will bear the shame without recourse to boasting and braggadocio – those times will be long forgotten.
