The Most Conservative 2016 Presidential Candidate
As the Washington Times reports, the American Conservative Union has released its latest scorecard on how well members of congress uphold the conservative values that produced the greatest nation in history.
The findings: only one presidential candidate from congress scored 100%, and that was Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
Of course, this was not a surprise to those of us who have been watching Cruz’s behavior since even before he was elected to the U.S. Senate a couple of years ago.

He comes from a background that appreciates the American way of life (including how unique and precious it is in the world). And unlike the limp-[insert limp body part of your choice here]-ed excuses for “Republicans” on Capitol Hill, Cruz is willing to go to the mat and fight the Left’s corrosive, poisonous agenda. He’s willing to lead on the issues and stick his neck out for what’s right, even when “Republicans” who have been there much longer are peeing their pants and hiding in the corner rather than risk the ire of the Left.
The damage done to America by the radical Left (including more than a few “Republicans”) is already almost too much for our country to ever recover from. The attacks on our foundation are too deep and too vicious, and the rot and decay have been allowed to go on unarrested for too long, for there to be too many days of greatness left for our republic.
But if it is still possible to turn things around, we simply must have a solid, reliable conservative at the helm of our nation. Another liberal-with-an-“R”-after-his-name isn’t going to cut it; one like that will just administer more poison to the ailing patient. Someone who can’t decide whether they want to be conservative or whether they want to appease liberals isn’t going to cut it. Someone who plays a “pro-life liberal” isn’t going to cut it. Someone who is anything less than certain they believe in the principles of Americanism, someone who is anything less than completely resolute in their determination to put our nation back on the course of limited government and traditional values , isn’t going to cut it.
Only someone with a reliable record–not empty rhetoric, but a record–of fighting for conservative values is going to cut it. And from the results of the American Conservative Union scorecard (and others), it’s clear who the best and really only reliable candidate is: Ted Cruz.
