Department of Justice attorneys for the Internal Revenue Service told Judicial Watch on Friday that Lois Lerner’s emails, indeed all government computer records, are backed up by the federal government in case of a government-wide catastrophe. The Obama administration attorneys said that this back-up system would be too onerous to search.

It turns out that what we knew all along (President Obama’s IRS was lying to us all along about Lois Lerner’s incriminating anti-Tea Party emails being gone forever) has now been admitted.

Dear Dad, We don’t always see eye to eye, especially when it comes to politics and religion. You are an old school Democrat, while I lean Tea Party right. But if we truly took the time to put aside contrived and perpetuated political propaganda, there is probably much more that unites than divides.

The Tea Party is on its way in, folks, not on its way out. Change is hard and doesn’t happen overnight. The undeniable facts are that America has huge problems, that these problems have been growing and festering for years while being ignored by our political class in Washington, and the American people are very unhappy with the state of affairs.

We have become a nation of two Americas, with two dramatically different value systems attempting to fly the same flag simultaneously. Similarly, there are now also two Republican Parties, each claiming the same branding but with two dramatically different visions.

Not only did the IRS target politically conservative groups, they also sought to deny tax exempt authorizations to groups who, quoting the Wall Street Journal, “whose missions might conflict with Administration policies. The IRS’s ‘Be on the Lookout’ list that November [2010] also included red flags for groups referring to ‘disputed territories.’”

This election has shown the people of Mississippi and the rest of America the dirty underside of a “Republican” political establishment that intends to win at any cost, and we want the truth to be exposed. As it stands, Friends of Barbour-Cochran in positions of authority across the state are doing all they can to prevent the truth from coming out and those responsible being held accountable.

If ever a federal agency has made ineptitude into an art form, it has to be the IRS. After months of stonewalling and grandstanding and Fifth Amendment privilege-pleading before congressional committees, Lois Lerner and the IRS are now the subject of a federal lawsuit. In response to charges that they unfairly impeded the tax-exempt application of the organization “True the Vote,” for political reasons, the IRS is invoking “the dog ate my homework” defense.

If mainstream Republicans don’t take action and allow Thad Cochran’s dirty tactics in Mississippi to continue to fester, it can only be assumed that they hate their activist base more than they hate being out of power. Hardly a recipe for winning in November or the future.
