VA Veteran Deaths: A Snapshot of Government Health Care

VA Veteran Deaths: A Snapshot of Government Health Care

Government run health care has come under increased scrutiny as America has learned of the bureaucratic decisions to let patients die rather than receive treatment. No, this story isn’t about Obamacare, although it does provide a pretty bleak look into the future as the death panels and cost based health decisions come flowing out of Health and Human Services cubicle farms.

Time to Shrink the Social Security Administration

Time to Shrink the Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration was created in 1935 and oversees three huge unconstitutional programs that provide benefits to millions of Americans: Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI), Disability Insurance (SSDI), and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSA consumes one-quarter of the us budget, spending $914 billion a year, around $7,600 for each U.S. household.

Food Stamps for Cash

Food Stamps for Cash

Perhaps the foolish ones are those who keep working. As it turns out, many federal and state-based welfare programs, including the federally funded $17.3 billion a year Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), legally allow for cash withdrawals from ATMs and cash back options at grocery stores and elsewhere.

The problem is liberalism, not racism

Black political leaders like Congresswoman Barbara Lee overwhelmingly embrace liberalism, progressivism, welfare statism – whatever you want to call it – that has failed and caused untold damage in the very communities they claim to want to help. And they refuse to ever learn. Their answer to every problem, despite prior experience, is more government, more taxpayer’s dollars. When real reformers like Paul Ryan come along, they get branded racist.

The Destitute Woman

The Destitute Woman

Imagine you and I are strolling down the street one fine day on our way to have a nice lunch and we come across a woman who is truly destitute. Imagine also that you just cashed a check and you know, and I know, that you have $200.00 in your pocket. Now imagine that I decide that you should give the $200.00 dollars to the woman.

ObamaPhones for ObamaCare

ObamaPhones for ObamaCare

Remember the good ole days back in 2010 when no one had read the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and it was going to enroll millions of the uninsured? All of us just blithely believed our D.C. masters who assured us that if we liked our insurance we could keep it, and that we wouldn’t be forced to switch doctors. Those were the days.

What America Can Learn About Socialized Medicine

What America Can Learn About Socialized Medicine

Courtesy of Foster Friess, we have some very interesting comments from Sally Pipes of the Pacific Research Institute. Pipes doesn’t wear the same rose-colored glasses that American Marxists wear when it comes to seeing the truth about socialized medicine. And make no mistake: ObamaCare is just a FUBAR step on the road to completely government controlled health care.

You Need Limits to be Free

You Need Limits to be Free

The fact that we are the products of thousands of years and hundreds of generations of institutional law makes us as blind to the intricate and all-encompassing nature of this skeleton upon which our society lives and moves. Just as a fish does not notice the water within which it moves, and we are not constantly aware of the air in which we move, our social self is not aware of the framework of laws which daily provide the context within which we find our meaning.

How to Be Free? – What We’ve Forgotten

How to Be Free? – What We’ve Forgotten

When the Communist empire collapsed after almost 80 years of enforced socialist life, leaving the Ukranians (among others) to fend for themselves…they didn’t know what to do! Americans, on the other hand, are just beginning down that path. Liberals and gun-grabbers still parrot the Party line that it’s “for the children” and to make us all safer. But they have no answer to the question, “What will keep us safe from the government?”

Republican Governor Tries to Hide Funding for Illegal Aliens

Earlier last month, the South Dakota House voted to extend taxpayer funded government health care benefits to pregnant illegal aliens. Last year, the legislature tried to do the same thing, but it got tangled up in a conference committee. The Democrat sponsor of the bill, Rep. Bernie Hunhoff, and Gov. Dennis Daugaard agreed to fund it through Medicaid appropriations. Looks like the governor is ready to pull the same fast one again.
