DeMint: Tax Hikes and Debt Isn’t ‘Rocket Science’

Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) made the following statement regarding the fiscal cliff offer by Republican leadership. “Speaker Boehner’s $800 billion tax hike will destroy American jobs and allow politicians in Washington to spend even more, while not reducing our $16 trillion debt by a single penny,” said Senator DeMint. “This isn’t rocket science. Everyone knows that when you take money out of the economy, it destroys jobs, and everyone knows that when you give politicians more money, they spend it.”

Boehner Could Lose It All for the GOP

In losing touch with the big issues of 2010 that drove them to a majority, House Republicans risk wholesale rejection by the fiscally conservative voter base that delivered an historic landslide. If Mr. Boehner chooses to not fight to win on the big debt issues that plague our nation, he and all of his House Republican colleagues will pay the price at the ballot box in two years.

Republicans Have Lost Their Way

Ginni Thomas at the Daily Caller has a chat with Media Research Center president Brent Bozell about the Republican establishment. With all the talk about out-of-control spending under Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats, spending is higher under John Boehner and the Republicans. Bozell says that while Democrats know exactly what they want (which is to turn our great nation into a socialist “utopia”), somewhere along the way, Republicans got the word from someone to head for the tall grass…and even when they’re in charge, they’re refusing to come out and lead.

The Crossed-Arm, Do-Nothing Boehner Monkey

A famous Japanese proverbial picture depicts three monkeys, in turn, covering the eyes, ears, and mouth. A fourth monkey with crossed arms has since been added, as the “Do No Evil” monkey, a dubious honor. It might have been the hallmark of Speaker Boehner, except instead of doing nothing wrong, he is simply doing nothing — as he has stifled every legitimate attempt to control spending and Obama.

Roots of Govt Health Care in South Dakota in Zaniya Project

Roots of Govt Health Care in South Dakota in Zaniya Project

My friend and fellow South Dakota patriot Tonchi Weaver was recently interviewed on Liberty Today about the government health care machinations going on in South Dakota these days. As Tonchi points out, this push for government health care mandates goes all the way back to 2007 and the Zaniya Project commissioned to study health care in South Dakota. That commission found little need or reason for government health care intervention…but some “Republicans” who support government intervention are demonstrating that they aren’t going to be deterred by things like reality, freedom and liberty.

Liberty Today Launched

This has been a while in coming, and it’s good to see the launch of Liberty Today by the Life and Liberty Group here in Rapid City. The broadcast is going out on KCPO TV and their affiliates across South Dakota. In the first installment, Ed Randazzo of the South Dakota Tea Party Alliance discusses taxes in South Dakota, former legislator Bill Napoli talks about the abuse of power from the state House “Republican” leadership, and Stacey Wollman of the Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center in Rapid City talks about the services her organization provides, as well as the coercion women often face to get an abortion.

Why Republican Politicians Sell Us Out

Why Republican Politicians Sell Us Out

It is a cliché to speak of “spineless Republicans”-google spineless republicans and you will see. They talk “conservative” when they campaign; but once in office, they go along with the progressive agenda. That agenda is to grow the federal government until it controls every aspect of our lives. Why don’t they oppose the progressive agenda?
