I was not able to be at former South Dakota Rep. Lora Hubbel’s announcement in Rapid City yesterday of her run for governor in 2014, but the Rapid City Journal and other media outlets covered it. Among the reasons Hubbel mentioned for running are several areas where Gov. Daugaard has betrayed Republican values, including his facilitation of ObamaCare in South Dakota.

Today, the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) endorsed Ben Sasse (R-NE) for the U.S. Senate in Nebraska. Ben Sasse is running in a multi-candidate primary to fill the open U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Senator Mike Johanns (R-NE).

As much as the establishment arm of Washington and their media counterparts would like the Tea Party to just disappear, they are wrong in their assessment of the shutdown and its impact on the movement. The Tea Party has emerged from this federal fracas more committed and clear-eyed than ever. The Republican establishment is rotten at its core. But the winds of change have begun to blow in Washington, and many Americans couldn’t be gladder. The G.O.P. can either get on board or get pushed out of the way.

You know it’s true. The liberal GOP establishment is completely ashamed of the conservatives and Tea Party people that form its base and still believe in the party’s documented values and priorities. If they are in fact trying to drive real Republicans out of the GOP with this Leftward swing (that we sometimes write off as asinine stupidity on the part of the leadership), then it could accurately be stated…

You know it’s getting bad for the “Republican” Party when Sean Hannity says it may be time for a third party; Hannity, after all, has defended the RINOs in the last couple of years far more than I’m comfortable with. Hannity had Sarah Palin on his show, and both agreed that the “Republican” establishment has been joining the Democrats and helping them advance the liberal agenda and hinder the conservative agenda.

What builds a political party: inclusion or principle? It is true that there must be at least some measure of both, but one is far more important than the other. What really builds up a party: compromise and an “anything goes” attitude, or a display of conviction and determination in the party’s values and goals?

The deceptions never seem to end. Instead of defunding ObamaCare, Republican leaders are still working behind-the-scenes in an attempt to both fool the American people into believing that they oppose ObamaCare while they do everything in their power to ensure that ObamaCare becomes a permanent fixture on the American landscape.

Heritage Action has released their 2013 mid-term congressional scorecard. You won’t be surprised to see certain Republicans ranked high (hint: they are the ones who have been speaking out most boldly for Republican principles and a return to the traditional American values that made ours the greatest nation in history).

Apparently Republicans in South Dakota aren’t the only ones fed up with feckless “leadership” and liberal surrender monkeybusiness from our “Republican” leaders.
