CNN devoted almost two solid weeks of round-the-clock-programming to the disappearance of Malaysian flight 370. Compare that to the events at the Bundy Ranch where the entire story was kept alive by social media. The “lamestream” media was nowhere to be found…as lost as the Malaysian jet. Yet Mom and Pop Americans carrying nothing more than a cell-phone camera and an internet connection drove the story the media chose to ignore.

ESPN Televises America’s First Man-on-Man Makeout
I have watched every NFL draft on ESPN since 1987. Every single one. I’ve seen countless players react emotionally with friends and loved ones after getting drafted and realizing a life-long dream. But I can’t recall ever seeing a player make-out with his girlfriend/wife on camera afterwards, let alone gratuitously with a cake-smash as Michael Sam did with his boyfriend on national television on Sunday — courtesy of ESPN.

On April 9th, Americans for Truth About Homosexuality’s Peter LaBarbera was invited by the Traditional Values Club to give a speech at Sinclair Community College (SCC) in Dayton, Ohio. A couple of intolerant, pro-homosexual teachers organized a large walk-out of his speech, which he handled with an abundance of grace. Yet one of the teachers, Kate Geiselman, subsequently decided to write a column featured in Salon.com in which she makes false claims about LaBarbera’s behavior at the event.

When faced with the highest levels of unemployment in American history, why does the government trumpet a falling unemployment rate? In the face of overwhelming evidence of ineptness at best in Benghazi, why do our hacks and their flacks insult us with answers like, “Dude this was two years ago!” With the obvious politicization of the IRS, why does the president tell us there isn’t even a smidgen of corruption in the IRS while professional bureaucrats who really run this country take the 5th, stonewall, and lie?

Argus Leader “100 Eyes on Politics” Managing Editor Patrick Lalley recently interviewed South Dakota Rep. Steve Hickey concerning Hickey’s recent appeal for doctors and health care professionals to speak out about the dangers of homosexual behavior. The “mainstream” media is now upset that Hickey would crudely describe a dirty and crude behavior.

I am not going to fall into the trap. I refuse to apologize for LA Clipper owner Donald Sterling. I refuse to wear the yolk of “racist” that the media is trying to throw over the neck of white Americans. His beliefs have nothing to do with me. Permit me to skip the “I am not a racist” confession normally required for a white man to speak to the issue of blackness and race in America.

In today’s America, if this atrocity was NOT reported on channel 13… it just didn’t happen. Today we look for validation of truth by whether or not it is reported on television. In other words, what’s in the idiot box has become what is real for us. What’s out here, in the real world, is not real for us unless we get confirmation from the tube.

History is replete with organizations making seemingly innocuous decisions only to feel the fall out years later. This past few weeks, CBS has made two decisions that have the potential to send the network into an unrecoverable tailspin.
