Rush Limbaugh has a very good point here. If it’s important to properly vet the men and women who will run our country, isn’t it also important to vet the men and women who bring us the information we rely on to vet the men and women who will run our country?

During the GOP debate last night, after a round of the “moderators” trying to make the Republican candidates look like mean ole bigots, Newt Gingrich threw it back in the face of the “mainstream” media and illustrated how they are supporting an anti-freedom, anti-family, anti-society agenda. Of course, Mitt Romney tried to play “me too,” but in light of the facts, his silly behavior falls flat.

Apparently Politico is continuing the SOP of baseless accusations without even supplying a name of the accuser. Is this what they’re teaching in “journalism” school these days? It must be, since facts, objectivity and analytical thinking no longer seem to be in the syllabus. I’m still not a Rick Perry fan, but I need to give credit where it’s due. He handled this jerk of a “reporter” very deftly and properly.

The Rapid City Journal and others on the Left want South Dakotans and Americans to think that the threat of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulating farm dust (of all things) is nonsense, that it’s just a bunch of silly fear-mongering by conservatives that is completely unnecessary. The truth is, the federal government has long been way out of control, and is more hostile to our freedom than King George ever was.

In an interview on NBC’s Meet the Press, Michele Bachmann had to straighten out a “mainstream” media “journalist” when he tried to pretty up Barack Obama’s record of adding trillions to the national debt. When Bachmann pointed out that deficits had exploded under Barack Obama and his Democrat congress, David Gregory had to rush to the aid of the Obamessiah. Bachmann wasn’t being the meek, compliant Republican she’s supposed to be, choosing instead to refute his lies. And the record backs her up.

Why do we never see questions like these being asked on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the LA Times, Newsweek, Time, US News & World Report, et al? But hats-off to Daily Caller for asking relevant and important questions that expose the utter hypocrisy of the Left. Come learn about some really hypocritical ice cream.

Those who know me understand that I’m not a big Rick Perry fan.  Perry is far too weak in the area of illegal immigration and some other things to be what I would consider a good Republican candidate for president. But when I witness what can only be characterized as journalistic ineptitude or journalistic malpractice, I can’t stand idly by and watch even a candidate I don’t like be smeared and besmirched. A case in point occurred Saturday at the Rapid City Journal’s blog Mount Blogmore, when “journalist” David Montgomery attempted to smear Rick Perry as a threat to the First Amendment and U.S. Constitution.
