Rick Santorum on What Marriage Means to Society

Once again we see in this video clip a homosexual activist attempting to make Republican Rick Santorum look like an evil bigot who “opposes rights for everyone.” The activists implies that to restrict homosexuals from military service or from counterfeiting marriage is to deny them some sort of right. Santorum points out that while all Americans have unalienable rights, serving in the military is not a right, but a privilege. He also points out the unique benefit that marriage brings to any society-something our current president refuses to acknowledge.

A Warm January Day in Rapid City

A day like today was almost unheard of, so the kids and I got out to enjoy it (my wife begged off, in the middle of writing her next book even as her first is about to hit the market). It’s almost unheard of to see a 71 degree day in January in Rapid City, and my schedule was flexible today, so when the kids asked to take their bikes to Canyon Lake Park, I thought that was a great idea. We saw some of the usual ducks and geese, as well as a strange look to the lake itself.  Part of it was completely ice-free and looked like a warm spring day.  Another part (one that is more in shadow from the afternoon sun), was still partially if not mostly covered in ice. The story of the wooden bowl

Here it is, Christmas time again. Digging into my files I discovered a story entitled simply, “The Wooden Bowl,” which is most appropriate for this time of the year. Overrruled: Parental Rights on the Ropes

I think we can all agree that parents who willfullly do harm to their children should no longer be trusted with the welfare of those children. But what if it’s the state that means to do children harm? What are we to do then? Unfortunately, in a culture where government has little if any constitutional restraint anymore, where that government is filled with radicals who are hostile to families and parental rights, this is becoming more of the norm than the exception.
