n July 2015, the Obama administration via the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) finalized a rule that will force local communities to build evenly distributed neighborhoods based on income and race.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) never saw what hit him. Making the unassailable statement that “all lives matter,” O’Malley discovered that for his hard left constituency at the blogger NetRoots Nations conference, this was a heresy. To the left, all lives don’t matter.

Remember it was Democrats who seceded from the Union and made the Confederate flag in the first place. And it was under Democrat Governor Earnest Hollings that the Confederate battle flag was put on the statehouse in Columbia in 1961.

As a ‘damn Yankee’ — that is, a Northerner who came to the South and didn’t leave — the Confederate Flag has never really held meaning for me. I understood that for most who displayed it, it meant a reverence for the heritage of the South and expressed the rebellious spirit I so often find, and admire, here.

When civil rights law became not about obliterating unequal treatment under the law but about using political power to socially engineer outcomes, the same individuals whose humanity we wanted to save were turned into new kinds of political objects for liberals to manipulate.

Coincident with July 4, the Pew Research Center published a survey asking, “Why has the U.S. been successful? Reliance on principles or ability to change?” Fifty-one percent attributed America’s success to its “ability to change” and 44 percent to its “reliance on longstanding principles.”

I’ve gone over this several times before, but since the “mainstream” media and the rest of the Left is so diligent in their efforts to bury the truth and smear the freedom movement in America, it bears telling the truth about Democrats again and again and again until all Americans know the real story.

In the face of withering evil, the families of Dylann Roof’s victims offered forgiveness. To the man whose goal was to elicit violence, they offered a peace that passes all understanding.

Hillary Clinton misrepresents reality to suggest that “institutionalized racism” exists today in America. It does not. Racial bigotry, on the other hand, is personal behavior. Does it exist? It certainly does. But personal affairs of the heart and affairs of state are different issues.

Dylann Roof has committed a heinous crime and forfeited, as the Constitution states, his right to life, liberty, and property; and this should happen speedily and publicly. So just how does this Constitutional demand for justice reconcile with forgiveness?
