Today in America, there is no shortage of individuals who love “the lie”. Whether one be conservative, progressive, liberal or a moderate (political or spiritual) all are quite receptive to a godless delusion and are willingly oblivious to the ternal realities of time and eternity.

Only a few generations ago, Americans were anchored in concrete ethics, felt the need to instruct their posterity in biblical morality, and understood the value of the founding fathers’ labors. Lamentably, our cultures values and system of thought have drastically changed. Americans now abhor absolute ethical standards, public education now has postmodern relativism as the teaching standard, and citizens are forfeiting their role as the people in government. How did our country digress?

Our pastors are worthless, at least in regard to fighting the cultural war. For some odd reason they fail to realize that the command to be “salt and light” has to do with impacting the culture. Hiding the light inside the church building, keeping the salt inside the shaker, does not advance the Kingdom of God.

When it comes to the bottomless depths of the Left’s hypocrisy, you literally just can’t make this stuff up. In Leftist fantasyland, it’s a crime to refuse a homosexual’s demand for a Christian business to participate in immoral activities, but it’s also a crime for a Christian to ask a pro-homosexual business for a service which affirms morality.

How is it that a minority of Americans have seized control of the direction of this nation? How can a group of people who, according to our government, comprise only about 3% of all Americans and be such a powerful force in this nation?

Home is where… no one is. That seems to be the modern trend. City dwellers lead hectic lives, our suburbs are “bedroom communities”, and the talent of the next generation is quickly fleeing small rural towns. Our homes are empty for far too many hours of the day, and this trend has been steadily reshaping society.

This generation, more than any in history has come to believe that a popular movement, notion or practice is given credence and substance by the sheer number of people that have chosen to accept it, adhere to it, or adopt it as their own.

By the looks of the church leaders in America today, one can only see why the enemy has become so emboldened. To tell these church leaders, to lay the axe to the root of the tree would be the unthinkable due to the fact that they are a bunch of spiritual weaklings. They would simply reply that the axe is too heavy.

Cheap grace: just another way of describing the Gospel that is being peddled by the neo-evangelicals. A costless Christianity. Eternal life at wholesale-club prices.

With each passing year, society is reaping the destructive consequences of a culture that has come to view normative moral standards as oppressive and antiquated. This rejection has caused and continues to cause damage and misery, particularly among society’s most vulnerable members.
