Who voted for open borders, anchor babies, abortion, restricting the right to keep and bear arms, ObamaCare, for our president to bow before despots and dictators, bank bailouts, a stagnant economy, and more rot plaguing our country?

It is ironic that politicians think our country will be kept safe by collecting phone records while illegal immigrants are crossing our border every day, and the government plans to let in 10,000 potential terrorists in a foolish refugee program. Imagine if instead of invading our privacy, our government simply secured our border, and ended insane refugee programs that could bring terrorists to U.S. soil.

The President has broad authority to bar entry into the U.S. under federal law, and in a time of war or national emergency, with an unknown number of enemy combatants already here or on their way here, it is perfectly legitimate and reasonable to issue such a proclamation. He could close the entire border if he wanted, airline stock prices be damned.

A 1954 Eisenhower deportation program in Border States proved that something could in fact be done to address illegal immigration. The Eisenhower approach came about after more than a million estimated migrant workers had crossed into the U.S. illegally in the prior decade as the U.S.-Mexico Bracero guest worker program was being implemented and then fell apart at the seams.

I couldn’t agree with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal more. He’s absolutely right. We need to move away from being hyphenated-Americans, and immigration without assimilation is actually invasion.

Ever since he announced his candidacy for president in June, Donald Trump has been setting the agenda for the rest of the field. And so, naturally, his call to bring an end to birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants was all anybody could talk about last week.

When we actually enforce the law, illegal immigration is eroded. Enforcement measures will remove some illegals, but the majority of illegals will need to be persuaded to deport themselves. The “choke-points” will get many illegal aliens to leave because those points are set at events that are necessary for life.

Looking at the sad state of our republic about all I have left to say is, “Good bye America it was good to know you.”

Imagine that: most Americans believe our government needs to be more aggressive in deporting people who have invaded our country and remain here illegally, and most Americans believe that should include people who have “anchor babies” while they are in our country illegally.

Flip-flopping usually isn’t viewed favorably, and for good reason. Flip-floppers usually change their story because they were caught in a bad position, and they almost universally try to claim they were never in the bad position in the first place. But what about the person who realizes they were in error, and admits to the change?
