I am already getting a sinking feeling about the 2014/2016 elections as Republicans haggle over who and what they stand for. If Republicans can’t define themselves as the Party of Growth and Prosperity to contrast to Obama’s disastrous record and to offer a rescue back to Constitutional sanity, Republicans will again stay home and the elections are already lost! The key void that Republicans must fill is to create a positive marketing narrative that will carry the party through the next elections.

South Dakota Rep. Stace Nelson made it official today: he’s running for U.S. Senate. Nelson made this announcement for the second time today this afternoon at the VFW post in Rapid City. Nelson explained why he was running, and also read a 14-point “Contract With South Dakota” in which he promised several things supported by virtually all Republicans.

It’s hard to imagine anyone wanting to build a political career on the carcasses of dead children. But then, it once seemed absurd that anyone would campaign for a “right” to kill children. One of South Dakota’s most conservative elected officials, Representative Stace Nelson (R-District 19), announced he will be hosting receptions in Alexandria & Rapid City on August 18th, to announce that he is entering the U.S. Senate race and offering to serve South Dakotans as their next U.S. Senator.

Dr. Annette Bosworth, candidate for the United States Senate, will host a roundtable conversation with other South Dakota physicians to discuss ObamaCare’s impact on their practices and patients. The roundtable will focus on the growing concerns of rising health care costs, impact on ability of South Dakotans to receive superior care from their physicians, and Dr. Bosworth’s pledge to defund Obamacare.

South Dakota Representative Stace Nelson, after traveling across the state and discussing requests to serve with numerous concerned voters, made an announcement Monday that he will be putting his focus on exploring a run for South Dakota’s 2014 U.S. Senate vacancy.

South Dakota Rep. Stace Nelson, who recently formed an exploratory committee to consider a run for a federal office, was in Rapid City to meet with supporters today. This afternoon, Nelson spoke at a “meet and greet” event organized by Citizens for Liberty and others in Wilson Park in Rapid City. Nelson recounted his consideration of running for higher office, including the U.S. Senate, and confirmed that he is “seriously considering” running for that office.

South Dakota Rep. Stace Nelson, the most conservative member of the South Dakota legislature, will be in Rapid City for a “meet and greet” the afternoon of Monday, July 22. The gathering will be at Wilson Park in Rapid City at 4:30 pm, and Nelson will be speaking to the crowd at 5:30 pm. Food and conversation will be available. Earlier that day, Nelson will be featured on a live radio interview with Brian Fisher at KIMM radio at 9:30 am.

Republicans are still in search for a candidate to run in 2014 against incumbent Democrat U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu. Why not Louisiana State Sen. Elbert Guillory. Guillory announced several weeks ago his departure from the Democratic Party, which he calls “the party of disappointment,” to become a Republican. Speaking to Republicans in Arkansas, he appealed to the Republican Party to stop “cowering behind closed doors.” “It’s time to shout our values and ideals from the mountaintops,” he says. “Prayer, family, free markets, limited government, lower taxes.”
