ObamaCare Advocates: We Counted on Your Stupidity

Jonathan Gruber, ObamaCare and RomneyCare architect, has admitted that the liberals pushing government health care schemes were counting on the stupidity (or negligent ignorance) of the American people to implement their schemes.

From the Weekly Standard:

“This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the [individual] mandate as taxes.  If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies.”

Ted Cruz 2016

“In terms of risk-rated subsidies, if you had a law which said healthy people are gonna pay in — you’ve made explicit that healthy people pay in and sick people get money, it would not have passed.  Okay?  Just like the…people — transparent — lack of transparency is a huge political advantage.  And basically, you know, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever.”

What do you think of a political philosophy, or a political methodology, that relies on the stupidity or ignorance of the American people in order to be implemented?  Can such a philosophy or method possibly be acceptable on any level?

If you have been a proponent of the ObamaCare scheme, how does it feel to know that the architects of this scam were counting on you and your fellow Americans to be stupid enough to stand idly by in order for it to be palatable enough to pass?

Many of us were not; we knew even before this abomination was passed exactly what it was about and what it would cause.  But the fact that it did pass without complete outrage from the American people proves that more than a few Americans really were as stupid (or negligently ignorant) as the tyrants in congress were hoping for.

How does that leave you feeling about the people who were elected (and sworn) to obey the U.S. Constitution and serve the interest of the American people?
