Family Research Council (FRC), after reading the fact sheet on the new proposed HHS mandate rule pertaining to non-profit organizations and closely held for-profit entities, like Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties, again confirms that the HHS mandate violates the conscience rights of non-profit organizations and family businesses across the country.

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announces that South Dakota has joined with 17 states as Amicus Curiae or “friend of the Court” in a brief filed in the United States Supreme Court in support of First Amendment Rights. The amicus brief challenges the Third Circuit Court of Appeals decision that the employer mandate in the Affordable Care Act did not violate religious principles in the operation of family-owned businesses.

Today, the Thomas More Law Center filed a lawsuit in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan challenging the Obama Administration’s HHS Mandate. The lawsuit was brought on behalf four brothers, Terrence, John, James and Christopher Nagle and their family-owned business, M&N Plastics, Inc. They all share a deep religious conviction that abortion, abortifacients, and life-ending contraceptives are a grave sin.

The over two thousand pages of the Obamacare law have many, many faults. This Friday, June 8 at noon local time across the country, tens of thousands of Americans in over 150 cities coast to coast will take to the streets in public protest against the controversial HHS Mandate during the second nationwide Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally. The Stand Up Rally will be held at federal buildings, Congressional offices and historic sites in such cities as Chicago, New York, Detroit, San Francisco, Minneapolis and Philadelphia. Remember when one of the architects of RomneyCare told us that Mitt Romney’s socialized health care scheme was the prototype for ObamaCare? It seems socialist health care schemes isn’t the only thing Mitt Romney and Barack Obama have in common. They are both contemptuous of religious freedom, especially when it comes to forcing Christians to provide contraceptive and abortion services they may find morally objectionable.

With these most basic religious freedoms, comes the responsibility to protect and preserve these liberties not only for Americans, but also for the millions across the globe who are imprisoned, persecuted, and even killed because of their faith. Yes, we already knew RomneyCare was, as all government health care schemes always are, a complete boondoggle that made health care worse in the state of Massachusetts. Now I learn that the RomneyCare health care exchange (and website) have turned out to be complete flops, and are being abandoned…to push everyone onto ObamaCare.

During the U.S. Senate debate at Dakotafest yesterday, conservative candidate Gordon Howie pointed out that while Mike Rounds likes to talk as if he’s a conservative and hates ObamaCare, Rounds actually worked to defeat Howie’s attempt to protect South Dakota from ObamaCare in 2010.

It looks like the President really is skirting the issues with ObamaCare. Thanks to a new partnership with a Louisiana drag queen show, the administration thinks it’s finally be tapping into a market it needs to boost enrollment numbers. With the help of the Center for American Progress (CAP), a troupe of transvestites called Wednesday Night Tea has started promoting HealthCare.gov as part of its act.
