Gun Control is NOT Love Mr. Obama

Second_AmendmentThe natural and God-given Right of self-defense is perfectly summed up by this exposition found in America’s fundamental law which regulates all our civil government institutions: “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Definitive, bright, unequivocal, and by no stretch of the imagination is the Second Amendment confusing.

Let’s look at the words of Jesus on this topic…“Then said He unto them…he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” The sword Jesus was speaking of was a military grade weapon. It was a very effective lethal weapon.  We know Christ would never command something that is intrinsically sinful so this command is clearly an act of love to protect one’s life and the lives of those near him/her.

Incidentally this is also a duty delegated to Barack Obama and his entire executive team by the Constitution, a duty that he is grossly derelict of.

Referring to anti-gun ownership laws and regulations, Obama stated the following, “We talked about this after Columbine and Blacksburg, after Tucson, after Newtown, after Aurora, after Charleston.”

This of course is a list of gun-free zones where law-abiding citizens were PROHIBITED from carrying firearms. The only exception was the Tucson shooting — which was one of only two public mass shootings (dating back to 1950) that did not occur in a gun-free zone.

Hence, the overwhelming majority of public mass shootings occur in places where guns are outlawed; and yet criminals disregard those bans.

Perhaps you may wonder why the President did not utter ONE WORD about the Oregon killer specifically targeting Christians at the Umpqua Community College.

He instead ignored this, and directed his malevolence against the rights of law-abiding gun owners who have brought public mass shootings in the past to a grinding halt.

On the contrary, victims, and the families of this recent shooting, like Jesse Fitzgerald, brother of attack victim Cheyeanne Fitzgerald, told the Daily Mail,  “We’re pro-Second Amendment, pro guns; my sister, my mother, my whole family are all in favor. We were talking about it in the hospital and none of us have changed our minds.”

The family also stated, “We need to be able to protect ourselves as a community and as a nation.”

Since the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land, and since the Second Amendment declares that the right of the people to keep and bear arms “…shall not be infringed,” then gun control measures are NOT law.

Let me repeat, gun control measures ARE NOT law.

I believe Americans need to call on sheriffs and police officers to declare their intention to uphold the law by refusing to enforce these measures. Moreover, Americans should ask these same oath-takers to keep the oaths they have sworn before God by actively protecting and defending us against those who would violate the law by seeking to enforce these vain enactments.

This is because unconstitutional acts of legislatures are NOT the law.

Clearly, banning guns entirely isn’t going to to work. Many drugs are illegal, but how effective has that been in keeping people off of them? Not very. The only thing that a ban on guns would do is ensure that the only ones who have them are criminals.

When it comes to gun restrictions, I’m a little torn. It sounds reasonable to have backgrounds checks. But maybe not. So maybe someone has a history of domestic violence or assault. Does it imply they’ll use a gun to kill someone? Not necessarily. Does someone with a past criminal record who has served their time and reformed their behavior have a right to protect themselves? I think they do.

Here’s the other thing: many of these mass murderers have clean records. Some obtain their guns through relatives via legal means. At some point, though, they just lost it. If they didn’t use a gun, they’d make explosives (like the Boston Marathon bombers).

It’s human nature to want to find solutions and to say “this must never happen again”. The fact of the matter is that there will always be deranged individuals who find ways of wreaking havoc on society, whether it’s with a knife or a gun or a home-made bomb.

I share many of those same thoughts and conflicts.

In the end, there’s only one real solution-and it’s the one our nation has systematically been abandoning for the past 50 years or so.

Just as “armed” is used as a canard for leftists to demonize, so can “unarmed” be similarly used to deceive and misdirect from the truth. The “unarmed” meme has been attached to wanton thugs in an attempt to make them look like little angels minding their own business, blissfully carrying Skittles and other makings of a drug drink home to get harmlessly high.

NO ONE is “unarmed” who possesses an expressed assaultive intent. Brown, Martin and even Garner were NOT “unarmed,” but willfully either attacked or actively resisted lawfully arresting peace officers.

But of course the race-baiters had to pretend they were innocent victims of an imaginary epidemic of white-on-black violence. And an unthinking public bought it.

“During the 503 days between the Trayvon Martin shooting and the George Zimmerman verdict, 10,865 blacks were killed by other blacks… Name one.”
