The Hand of providence has been so conspicuous in all this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations. — George Washington, letter to Thomas Nelson August 20, 1778

The Dream Of Olympia

Michael Day

Although there is no denying that olympic athletes are among the best up and comers in the world, their performances are overshadowed by the pomp and circumstance that glorifies an almost religious attitude toward global unity through athletic competition. The olympic games take athletic competition and elevate it to the apex of human endeavor, making the medal winners heroes, not only for sports enthusiasts, but for everyone in the nations they represent. Nationalism is reduced to the level of a high schooler cheering for the home team. Lost are the history and institutions that define peoples, nations and cultures. Lost are the moral and civil underpinnings that give meaning to our social structures.

The Environmentalist Vision for America

Bob Ellis

It has become abundantly apparent that NO energy source can ever please environmental extremists. Relatively clean coal and petroleum products? Never! Nuclear power? No way! Hydroelectric? That would harm the fish! Wind power? That kills too many birds and ruins the view for "environmental heroes" like the late Ted Kennedy. Solar? Well, maybe...if we can keep solar companies from going bankrupt despite massive infusions of money from the taxpayers. the vision environmental extremists have for America.

Alexis de Tocqueville

Religion the Foremost Political Institution in America

William J. Federer

A French social scientist, he traveled the United States in 1831, and wrote a two-part work, Democracy in America (1835, 1840), which has been described as: "the most comprehensive and penetrating analysis of the relationship between character and society in America that has ever been written." In it, de Tocqueville wrote: "Upon my arrival in the United States the religious aspect of the country was the first thing that struck my attention; and the longer I stayed there, the more I perceived the great political consequences resulting from this new state of things, to which I was unaccustomed."

Media Track Record of Smearing Conservatives

Bob Ellis

Even though the Left has a history of violence going back to the 1960s radicals (including Barack Obama's unrepentant domestic terrorist pal Bill Ayers), the "mainstream" media loves to engage in projection and good old fashioned propaganda every time some nut commits an act of violence to attempt to stop their political enemies on the Right. This video is a look at the recent history of the lies of the "mainstream" media and their fellow Leftists.

You Can’t Do Anything Without Big Government

Bob Ellis

Barack Obama, High Priest of the Government-God, would have you believe you can do nothing without the beneficent blessings of his god. Americans, however, see things differently.

Thought Police Demand Homosexual Legitimization

Bob Ellis

The message from the Thought Police and Forces of Political Correctness: Conform. Obey. We are your god. Submit. The dust-up over Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy's statement affirming what every civilization since the dawn of time has understood (that it takes a man and a woman to form a marriage) is about what the self-appointed idiots of culture consider to be ThoughtCrime--an opinion contrary to that which the self-appointed heads of the herd consider appropriate.

Olympic gold

Going for the Gold and the Real Glory

David Pepe

In the "spirit" of the Olympics; many have trained and have anticipated this present week for years. These individuals have worked extremely hard and have made countless sacrifices to maintain their competitive edge. Finally, all of their hard work and effort has paid off and they are ready to compete. These individuals have subjected their bodies under strict disciple with one goal and one prize in their vision, the gold medal. Where does such an event rank in the importance of one's life?

The Well-Meant Door to Tyranny

William J. Federer

The 14th Amendment was adopted JULY 28, 1868, because southern States, though forced to end slavery by the 13th Amendment, did not grant citizenship to freed slaves. Yet after the Amendment was ratified, activist Federal Judges, applying evolution to the legal process, did just that, as Thomas Jefferson had forewarned Charles Hammond in 1821. The 14th Amendment soon became a door by which Federal Courts took authority over trade disputes, union strikes, and eventually religion, away from States' jurisdiction.

Obama: Raising Minimum Wage for Unions

Nathan Mehrens

President Obama’s decision to bypass Congress and raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 for federal contract workers is a very big deal — and not just because it will force U.S. taxpayers to shell out more money on the same inefficiently delivered, often-unnecessary government services.

Republicans Are Also the Enemy of the American People

Bob Ellis

You may not have heard about this yet, but the Republican Party completely and intentionally sold out the American people. In the latest Republican capitulation to Democrats, Senate Republicans not only caved on increasing the debt limit yet again, they took the extra measure of not calling the roll on the votes so they could hide their cowardly and despicable votes from the public.

Dining on Kentucky Fried Constitution

It may be National Marriage Week, but the federal bench has a funny way of celebrating it. In courtrooms from Kentucky to Nevada, democracy is taking a beating from activist judges anxious to put their stamp on the march toward same-sex "marriage." Bluegrass voters were the latest ones caught in the undertow, as a surge of amendment challenges sweep through Middle America. This time, it was a Republican appointee doing the honors.

US Soldiers Now Forced to Fight Two-Front War in Afghanistan

Billy and Karen Vaughn

US soldiers in Afghanistan are now forced to fight a two-fronted war. Before each deployment, these soldiers understand fully that day after day they will do battle against relentless terrorists with shifting loyalties and unspeakable hatred. But what none of them could have foreseen was the killing field that would open from their rear...the continental United States.

Mind Games: The Helplessness of Living in this World

Carrie K. Hutchens

I'm tired of the mind games. I'm tired of listening to people swear the lie is the truth and the truth is the lie. I'm tired of people not using the brains given them to review the "actual" facts, rather than parroting (and whole-heartedly believing) the narrative handed to them by the propaganda squad of radical liberals.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the party over to the so-called moderates wouldn't make any sense at all." - Ronald Reagan, Nov. 10, 1964
