By my count, the good senators and representatives of South Dakota have now made four attempts to rescind the pro-transgender, pro-homosexual policy adopted by the South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) last year. The fourth is now on “life support” in a conference committee as a last attempt to remove this harmful policy from our education system.

The GOP establishment is so deep in cahoots with the Left that we might as well have Democrats in their chairs. Whether they actually embrace liberal values (as many of them do), or whether they’re completely without testicles (as many of them are), or whether they support liberal goals for different reasons, i.e. supporting amnesty because their donors want cheap labor (as many of them do), the end result is the same: Leftist goals get advanced.

First, Speaker of the House John Boehner so alienated Republicans by pushing President Obama’s amnesty that he needed Democrats to pass amnesty funding. Now, Democrats are vowing to shield RINO Boehner from conservatives who actually want to pursue the Republican agenda.

The South Dakota Senate Education Committee heard HB 1161, a second bill on the South Dakota High School Activities Association transgenderism policy today. Like HB 1195 on Tuesday, the “Republican” supermajority committee killed the bill and upheld the SDHSAA’s pro-homosexual transgender policy.

Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today condemned 75 House Republicans who voted to fund President Barack Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty for 4.5 million illegal immigrants with U.S.-born children: “The vote to fund President Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty will have a profound negative impact on our nation for years to come. The 75 Republicans who lost courage have aided and abetted the shredding of the U.S. Constitution by giving Obama the funds to rewrite federal law.”

On Tuesday, the South Dakota Senate Education Committee heard testimony on HB 1195 to “declare void the transgender policy of the South Dakota High School Activities Association and to establish a determinant in identifying a student’s sexual identity for the purpose of participation in high school athletics.” The “Republican” supermajority legislature killed the bill on a 4-3 vote.

“We were never going to win in Congress.” That is the epitaph spoken by Speaker Boehner ally Representative Tom Cole on the collapse of House Leadership’s resolve to legislatively fight Executive Amnesty. It may also be the final nail in the coffin for the notion of co-equal branches of government, as President Obama has already announced that he is considering using unilateral executive actions to ban ammunition and raise corporate taxes, on top of his massive Internet regulation announced last week.

A political group with close ties to the House Republican leadership just launched new TV ads attacking three conservative congressmen for refusing to fund President Obama’s illegal executive amnesty.

The South Dakota Legislature recently had another chance to consider protecting the religious freedom of South Dakotans from homosexual activists and others who seek to force their will on others. HB 122o was submitted to protect the free exercise of religion in South Dakota-something under heavy attack nationwide and which may soon be under full attack here in South Dakota. Yet the “Republican” supermajority legislature voted to kill the bill in committee 10-3.

I just don’t get it. It seems that when media pundits write or speak, a certain segment of Americans automatically believe. Forget whether it has any basis of truth, it’s been printed in a daily journal. If this be the case going forward, our American sunrise is being reversed.
