The GOP’s Agonizing, Self-Inflicted Death
The Republican Party is still alive, but it is definitely not well. The Republican Party is like someone who is going through the motions – you know, like the guy who shows up for work every day and does as little as possible. This guy is there to collect a paycheck while doing little and even neglecting responsibilities. One has to wonder how he does not get fired. Does this remind you of the Republican Party at all?
Now don’t get me wrong, I will support the Republicans over the Democrats any day because the Republicans align with my values and thinking. At the same time, it’s tiresome watching the GOP self-destruct while doing little of what they promise. Remember the mid-term elections of 2014? Many Republicans promised to roll back Obama-care if elected, not to mention the task of stopping Obama and his illegal use of executive orders. To whit:
It is rare that a political party running for office in a midterm election not standing for anything ends up with a mandate, and they have one, and it is the biggest and perhaps the most important mandate a political party has had in the recent era, and it is very simple what that mandate is. It is to stop Barack Obama. It is to stop the Democrats. There is no other reason why Republicans were elected yesterday. Republicans were not elected to govern.
How can you govern with a president that disobeys the Constitution? How can you govern with a president that is demonstrably lawless when he thinks he has to be? The Republican Party was not elected to fix a broken system or to make it work. The Republican Party was not elected to compromise. The Republican Party was not elected to sit down and work together with the Democrats. The Republican Party was not elected to slow down the speed the country is headed to the cliff and go over it slowly.
The Republican Party was elected to stop before we get to the cliff. – Rush Limbaugh November 5, 2014
If we have not arrived at the cliff – if we are not standing precariously on the edge of the cliff — we very soon will be. Obama-care is still the law of the land, and President Obama still issues illegal executive orders at will; not much has changed since the mid-term elections. Our borders are still wide open, illegal immigrants are still pouring into this country, and the U.S. is still spending money like a drunken sailor at the bar. At the same time, we have a do nothing Congress that sits idly by and watches Obama do as he pleases and then whines about it.
Along Comes Donald Trump
Donald Trump thinks he is the brilliant architect of his campaign success, that he and his team have played a great game. Right. Guess again, Donald. The true architect of The Donald’s success is none other than the Republican Party itself. The GOP elite hates Donald Trump, but they are the ones that created him in the first place. With the people of the U.S. feeling disenfranchised with politicians period, any political outsider could have walked in and done what Trump has done. Donald Trump is an outsider, and he has taken political correctness and thrown it out the front door locking the door behind it; he says what he wants to say. This is enormously appealing to America right now.
Super Tuesday is here and gone – the foolish choices of the GOP are not. “The Establishment” has endorsed Marco Rubio as their man. In the opinion of this writer, endorsing Rubio is a fool’s errand. Rubio cannot possibly win the Republican nomination, nor should he. At the same time the candidate that actually has a chance of beating Trump is also hated by the Republican Establishment. So, the Establishment hates Donald Trump, the Republican front-runner, and they cannot stand Ted Cruz, the only one who has a prayer of defeating the one they hate! Anyone see a problem here? United we stand, divided we fall…
Between Washington’s antics as a whole, and the Republican Establishment’s foolish choices, they are cementing a Trump nomination – unless the people wise up to what is happening and vote accordingly.
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton: fit to don the mantle of Obama JR.
Donald Trump is a loud-mouthed braggart that cannot even coherently explain how he will do what he says he will do. Way too many are fooled by Trump’s rhetoric, but that is all it is! If you listen to him, his words carry little substance; instead, they are all flash and dance. Trump as well has turned against Israel, our biggest ally in the Middle East. This writer is not convinced that Donald Trump can win against Hillary Clinton in the general election either.
Hillary Clinton the felon would be a certifiable disaster as president of this country. Hillary’s views change like the direction of the wind. Clinton called herself a “person of faith” at a recent gospel award show. The only faith Hillary Clinton has is in money and power – you can take that to the bank.
America, it’s high time to dump the Trump, and serve Hillary her just deserts – jail.
