South Dakota Legislative Billwatch, Feb. 17, 2016

Capitol_interior6It’s another busy day in the South Dakota Legislature today.

HB 1190 deals with “gold card permits” for concealed carry, and would provide for expedited purchases in some cases.

HB 1209 would require any public body of the state to accept as valid all information on a person’s birth certificate. Sounds pretty obvious, doesn’t it?  But apparently not, in a day when the Left expects people to ignore reality and accept males as females and females as males just because they “say so.”  Yes, in the modern Left’s utopia, rational people must spell out that, yes, official documents are indeed to be accepted over someone’s “feelings.”

HB 1233 is another bill intended to end the asinine twice-a-year clock-changing exercise the people of South Dakota must go though because the leaders of our country are still thinking in the 19th Century.

SB 72 would prohibit abortions after an unborn child is developed enough to feel pain. This bill is actually rather “generous” to people who are determined to kill their own child, as it would allow the slaughter of children up to 20 weeks development, since the brain and nervous system (which provide pain response to the brain) are developing by about 8 weeks.

SB 153 is another bill to provide for drug testing of welfare recipients. This one is a little different than HB 1076 which was killed by our “Republican” supermajority legislature earlier in this session. This one specifies TANF benefits, and would perform random testing rather than every recipient.

SJR 2 is another jewel with “Republican”  sponsorship, calling for a corporate income tax in South Dakota.
