Today, South Dakota Secretary of State Shantel Krebs announced that the increase in conceal carry weapon permits has continued into 2016.

“In the month of January alone we have seen the number of permits surge from an all-time monthly high of 2,968 in December to 3,879 in January. Because of these high volume increases the demands on staffing will need to be reevaluated to mainta in statutory compliance,” stated Secretary Krebs.
