Pope Francis Seeking a Unified World Religion?

Pope_Francis_religionsBy Greg Holt

Pope Francis recently declared that, “we are all children of God” in a new video declaring his “prayer intentions”. While we are all supposed to be children of God we are not and never will be.

True children of God believe in and worship Jesus Christ and look to Him for salvation and no other. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved
Saying that we are all children of God is saying that all can be saved regardless of who and what they believe in and that is simply untrue.

From Christian News:

In his first-ever video declaring his “prayer intentions,” the Roman Catholic leader Jorge Bergoglio, also known as Pope Francis, called for dialogue and collaboration among those of the various world religions on Tuesday, asserting that they are simply “seeking or meeting God in different ways.”

“Most of the planet’s inhabitants declare themselves believers,” he states in the production released on the Feast of Epiphany. “This should lead to dialogue among religions. We should not stop praying for it and collaborating with those who think differently.”

The video then features clips of those from different world religions declaring belief in their various deities.

What does this sound like to you? To me it sounds like the underpinnings for the One World Religion. So most of the world’s population declare themselves to be believers – so what? Does that mean that the people who worship nature are believers too? Or how about those who say they worship God but deny the deity of Christ? Or those who worship “Allah”? How about the divine mother?

I agree that we need to pray for all the world’s people, but we should not and cannot be collaborating with them. We are called to pray for all, to love them, even help them – but we are not called to collaborate or worship together. Pope Francis recent statements are his greatest blasphemy to date. If the central idea of what Pope Francis is trying to encourage people to do were true – then Jesus would have included the Pharisees of His day with open arms rather than sharply rebuking them as He did. John 8:41-47

The following are statements made in the video Pope Francis recorded

From Christian News:

“I have confidence in Buddha,” a female lama announces.

“I believe in God,” a rabbi affirms.

“I believe in Jesus Christ,” a priest states.

“I believe in Allah,” an Islamic leader declares.

These statements serve to reinforce the fact that Pope Francis is trying to unite all the world’s religions into one big happy family. It is incredible to me that the leader of the Catholic Church could and would espouse and endorse such a ridiculous ideology. Where does Islam position Christ? Islam says that Christ is no more than a prophet of Allah and certainly not the divine Son of God. How about Buddhism – Buddha taught: The Fourth Noble Truth is that salvation is achieved through effort, which Buddha called “the eightfold path.” So where exactly does that leave Christ? Buddha never claimed to be God either.
I’m not going to discuss the fallacies of what the Catholic Church, Mormonism, and the Jehovah’s Witnesses teach among others, you can read about that here.

The biggest problem with all of this is not that Pope Francis obviously believes in what he is stating as truth. The fundamental problem in this is the millions, yes millions of people who will believe what the Pope says as “gospel truth” – are signing their spiritual death warrant. To believe and or teach other than what the Word of God says is to exclude oneself from the Kingdom of God unless and until one repents of unsound and untheological beliefs.

Witness:

Matthew 7:21-23 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

If what you hear, see or read does not line up with the Word of God – be it from me or anyone else no matter whom they are, discard it. Pope Francis teaching and statements show a blatant disregard for what the Bible teaches and this is exceedingly dangerous. This is likened to the false teachers that the Apostle Paul spoke of in his writings. 2 Timothy 4:3-4

We are called to be set apart and for good reason:

2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word the Bible – anything or anyone that decries the truth of what Jesus says is a lie and a liar, and the pathway to eternal damnation.

Philippians 2:10-11

that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
