Obama’s latest executive action on guns is clearly within his authority. We know this because Obama mouthpiece Valerie Jarrett says so.

The South Dakota Stockgrowers Association sent letters this week to congressional delegates, the U.S. Attorney General’s office and the South Dakota Attorney General’s office questioning what they call “egregiously unbalanced response of federal land management agencies” and supporting the claims South Dakota ranchers made for compensation after the 2013 Pautre Fire burned nearly 10,000 acres of federal and private land.

Today, South Dakota Secretary of State Shantel Krebs announced that South Dakota has seen a large increase in conceal carry weapon permits for 2015. “In the month of December alone we have seen the number of permits issued double from 1,423 in 2014 to 2,968 in 2015.

As has always been the case for Americans, the new year is a time for setting new goals, seeking restoration and renewal, shedding harmful habits, and resolving to do better in the future. Here are some resolutions that our nation would do well to adopt for 2016.

Several religious non-profit organizations filed an opening brief Monday with the U.S. Supreme Court in consolidated lawsuits against the Obama administration’s abortion-pill mandate and its religious non-profit options, all of which force the groups to violate their faith.

It is ironic that politicians think our country will be kept safe by collecting phone records while illegal immigrants are crossing our border every day, and the government plans to let in 10,000 potential terrorists in a foolish refugee program. Imagine if instead of invading our privacy, our government simply secured our border, and ended insane refugee programs that could bring terrorists to U.S. soil.

The latest conflict between American citizens and their out-of-control, unconstitutional, oppressive government is currently taking place in Oregon. But is this the right ground on which patriots can and should stand to resist tyranny?
