Who Were the Pilgrims?

As most Americans celebrate Thanksgiving today, stop a moment to consider who the Pilgrims were-that group of people we typically look back to as the originators of today’s Thanksgiving celebration.

Remember that the Pilgrims who were among the first Europeans to settle the New World formed the first civil document of the New World “in the presence of God” called the Mayflower Compact, which was put forth “In the name of God” and recorded the reason for their voyage to the New World being “for the Glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith.”

Remember that the Pilgrims who were among the first Europeans to settle the New World were the same kind of politically active Christians that today’s Left wants to crush under its boot…rather like the tyrants of their day wanted to.

Remember that the Pilgrims who were among the first Europeans to settle the New World were the same kind of politically active Christians who believed something as important as your faith in God should guide and inform every-EVERY-aspect of life.

Remember that the Pilgrims who were among the first Europeans to settle the New World were seeking the liberty to follow their conscience and live right before their Creator…rather like the Christians of today that today’s Leftist tyrants seek to force to their dark will.

Remember that the Pilgrims were just Christians trying to be the salt and light in a decaying and dark world that their Creator had called them to be-just like the Christians that today’s Godless Left seeks to subjugate.

Remember these things, and be thankful that as an American, your country was founded on beliefs like this, without which this country would not have known the unparalleled freedom and prosperity it has enjoyed for over 200 years.

Then, after the turkey is digested, resolve to drive back these usurpers and once again make America that shining city upon a hill.
