Blame the Steel

gunsAs usual, Bill Whittle has some brutal and wise insight, this time concerning the latest mass shootings.

What is it about the guns used in these crimes that made these guns different than the 300 million other guns in America that didn’t “choose” to shoot innocent people?

Is it really the steel?  Do we need steel control?  Is it really the fault of inanimate objects of steel?

Or is it about what virtually everything today (according to the Left) is about: the escape from responsibility?

Oh no. It can’t possibly be the person’s fault. Why, if it was the person’s fault, then we might have to recognize that the person made a bad moral choice.  And if we have to recognize that someone made a bad moral choice, then we might have to face the reality that there IS a moral standard out there. And if we had to face the reality that there is a moral standard, then we might have to face the reality of our own choices which put us on the wrong side of that moral standard.  And we can’t have that.

Whittle also points out something very interesting about these shootings, something you’ll probably never, ever, ever hear on NBC or CNN.  A huge proportion of them, probably the vast majority of them, are boys who either grew up fatherless or with fathers who didn’t teach them anything (certainly nothing moral) or spend any significant time with them.

Which brings us to yet another point of moral responsibility we don’t want to deal with: the destruction of the family.  The Left has been at war with the institution of family for decades (it’s a cornerstone of Marxist philosophy), tearing down family through the promotion of promiscuity, of no-fault divorce, of sexual autonomy, and lately of counterfeit marriage.

Family and the raising of children was designed to be accomplished by a man and a woman in a life-long committed relationship where the children can receive living instruction from both a male and a female, learning about the things that only a man or a woman are equipped to teach, and learning about how men and women can work together in a complimentary fashion. When a child is robbed of these things through the narcissism and self-indulgence of the people who gave birth to them, they grow up not only imbalanced, but deprived of the moral instruction they need to become good citizens.  They also usually grow up angry–angry at having been robbed of what God intended for them to have, and often ready to take it out on the nearest soft target…as we repeatedly see in these mass shootings.

Isn’t it about time average Americans told the Left they can take their false narratives and shove them where they best belong?

Or are we going to join them in (vainly) attempting to avoid responsibility, and our own culpability in the destruction of the moral fabric of American society?

And if we can’t protect ourselves, neither should the rich and powerful…. Let them give up their armed protectors, accept obamacare, drive battery controlled cars, live under sharia law and give up a majority of their wealth to the poor…. Then we can talk!

And I don’t even own a gun, lol
