Independence Day, or Dependence Day?

A republic of laws, not of men Two years ago, I stood in Independence Hall in Philadelphia with my wife and children.  I am a Christian and have been for many years, but I cannot help but say that it was almost a religious experience for me to be there-much as it was standing before the Declaration of Independence in the National Archives on another day. Indeed, it was a religious experience-not because I worship the United States or its founders, but because I so deeply cherish and appreciate the blessings of liberty that have been found only in this country…and I recognize that we have God Himself to thank for the existence of this nation and all the blessings that come with it.
