Leftist Tyrannical Double-Standard on Display

SCOTUS_marriageAs you may or may not know, a Christian baker in Colorado was recently fined $135,000 by the government for exercising their religious liberty not to participate in a counterfeit “wedding.”  When a GoFundMe charity was started so that good people could help the baker financially, GoFundMe shut it down after $109,000 was raised; apparently GoFundMe is pro-homosexual and didn’t want Sweet Cakes to have access to the same kind of help as other people.

We also found out yesterday that Barronelle Stutzman, a Christian florist who refused to make flower arrangements for a counterfeit “wedding,” was also the beneficiary of a GoFundMe campaign…and they shut her down when they realized she was being helped.

Apparently in Leftist America, you can exercise your property rights as a business owner so long as you decide to support the Leftist agenda, but if you try to exercise your First Amendment-protected religious liberty because you don’t want to participate in immoral and fraudulent acts, you must have the force of government leveraged against you to punish you.

We already knew that liberals in general, and homosexual activists in particular, were complete hypocrites.  From the pro-homosexual Azucar Bakery that government in Colorado ruled didn’t have to operate by the same standard as Christian businesses, to all the pro-homosexual bakeries that Theodore Shoebat found who wouldn’t make a pro-marriage cake, Leftist hypocrisy and double-standard was already on display. Now we can add GoFundMe to the list of liberal pro-homosexual hypocrites.

I support the right of any free market business to run their business the way they want to; that’s their right as the property owner, and that’s the American way.

What I do find galling and un-American is the blatant, brazen double-standard.  Of course, no one in their right mind should seriously expect the Left to be logical, consistent or fair.  Since the rise of Marxism and modern liberalism, “by any means necessary” has been their overriding doctrine. They know that good people wouldn’t come within 10 miles of embracing their corrosive, poison ideology if it were simply presented as-is, so they lie and propagandize where necessary, and leverage brute force where possible.

As the U.S. Supreme Court was hearing arguments over marriage yesterday, the Daily Signal asked some of the people there what they thought of this glaring Leftist double standard where GoFundMe gets to decide who it will do business with, while Christians must be forced by government to violate their conscience and participate in immoral, fraudulent acts.

You see, if you can just call “religious freedom” and “property rights” by the moniker “hate” or “discrimination,” then you get to tyrannize and override both religious freedom and property rights with impunity. In Leftist America, if you want to force someone to go along with your agenda and obey your will, just call their refusal to do so “hate” or “discrimination.” Works like magic in an unthinking, morally-rudderless society.

Of course, in Leftist America, you can’t call the effort to force a free person to serve you and participate in your immoral acts “hate.”  Oh no.  That is “tolerance,” to force a free person to serve you and facilitate your immoral acts.

If good people aren’t going to rise up, denounce this tyranny, and demand a return to constitutional government in America, we had better get used to “LiberalSpeak” to understand our culture.

Frankly, a GoFundMe campaign to reward businesses for discriminating against paying customers seems rather sad. But if it’ll make you feel righteous, you are free to create your own conservative Christian crowdsourcing website. And you can deny its use to anyone with whom you have theological disagreements.

The sad thing is seeing the tyranny of those who can only further their cause by stamping out disagreement — and seeing those like yourself who cannot recognize this for what it is because you’re part of it.

The Left can harbor no disagreement, because even Leftists know deep down that their ideology is founded on lies and immorality. Vocal disagreement reminds the dull and docile of that fact, and threatens the compliance of the dull and docile with the Leftist agenda. It must therefore be ruthlessly stamped out.

The GoFundMe campaigns weren’t established to “reward businesses for discriminating against paying customers.” They were established so that good people could help good business owners who had their religious freedom attacked and their property rights crushed by tyrants pushing an immoral agenda via the force of government.

As I said, GoFundMe, as a free market business, has the liberty to be hypocritical in this manner. And every American should know the depth of their brazen hypocrisy.

You don’t find it sad that someone was fined by the state into economic ruin for merely turning down a couple of lesbians?

You need to have your compassion meter checked - no, replaced.

I’m disappointed by this. I was hoping “my side” wouldn’t embrace all the things about the opposition we claim to detest.

The supposed “justification” for pulling the Kleins account had something to do with “criminal activity” blah blah blah. Nonsense. They were not funding anything criminal in nature. In essence, GFM denied their services for their own considerations. If we’re going to allow that, we have to allow the baker and the florist their considerations as well.

Without consistency in the application of our principles, we just become prejudiced bigots.

      Dead on.

I fully support GoFundMe’s right to run their business the way they see fit.

But if they deserve the right to run their business as they see fit (and they do) even without the additional layer of First Amendment religious liberty protection, then by golly, so do the persecuted recipients of these aborted funds.
