Sympathy for the Devil – A Means to Destruction

There was once a story of a merciful captain of a ship. While a passing ship shot at the captain’s ship, the captain showed mercy and warned him not to shoot again. The ship shot at him again, but the kind captain did not retaliate. His “mercy” ended up bringing destruction not only upon himself, but all those on his ship.  By allowing the enemy to attack him twice without retaliation, the passing ship shot a third time and destroyed them all.

This is the story of the merciful, American people who tolerate the crimes of those who serve “We the people.”

As I have often said, “Soft judges produce hardened criminals.”

What it comes down to is, “Sympathy for the devil, the devil that means to destroy” (John 10:10).

To illustrate my point, here are a few headlines from across America.

Marco Rubio, who is constitutionally ineligible to be president, has also revealed himself as an establishment guy, who sympathizes with the sodomites.

I wrote last week that the people advocating and attempting to legitimize these individuals are the very ones who are claiming to stand against lawlessness. However, they are helping give these individuals in government a platform.

These people put up politicians who are alleged to have broken the law over and over again through treason, bribery, other high crimes and misdemeanors against “We the people.” Many of these criminals have been in government for 20-30 years.

If you were to do what the American people have allowed government to do, you would be thrown in prison.  In their hypocrisy, they strain at the gnat and swallow the big camel (Matthew 23:24).

As much as the press magnifies these corrupt representatives to legitimize them, I stand on the opposite end of the spectrum to show you from history that to overlook the crimes of these individuals will be to America’s demise.

I know that many in America today are led to believe that, for some reason or another, those who represent the American people are somehow above the law. Many Americans believe these people can do whatever they want, without consequence of transgressing the law, which they swore to uphold.

Yet, when reading the Declaration of Independence, which many believe to be the preamble to The United States Constitution, I extract that our representatives derive “their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

Put into perspective the presupposition that God is and that He is the giver of rights, as the Declaration of Independence clearly proclaims. Our rights come from God and the powers of the government come from the people. Here are some phrases found in that document:

  • “The Laws of Nature and of Natures God”
  • “That all men are created equal that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights”
  • “Appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world”
  • “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence”

When President John F. Kennedy stated, “The rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God,” it sounds like he took the time to familiarize himself with this country’s founding documents.

We can see that those who serve “We the people” bear witness to this very fact by placing their hand on the Bible and swearing on oath, both to God and man, that they will uphold the laws found within the “Empire of Laws” (God’s moral Law found in Exodus 20; The God of The Mosaic institution; Common Law).  Furthermore, they pledge that they will protect such from all enemies both foreign and domestic.

Knowing the above, I ask, where do the president, the Supreme Court justices, senators, or representatives derive the right to break the laws of God’s government?

They can all be removed through the impeachment process, as well as be indicted for their crimes against the people.

Article 2, section 4 of The United States Constitution reads:  The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

This applies to The President (Barack Obama has at least 900 documented examples of lawbreaking, lying, corruption, cronyism, hypocrisy & waste), Vice-President, and all civil officers (includes both the supreme and inferior Court justices, who hold their offices during good behavior).  Our judges are to discover and apply written law, not create or legislate law (Article 3, Section 1 of the US Constitution).

These are not the type that can be saved; they are the type that must be stopped. America’s future depends upon it. Countries are destroyed for the lack of impeachment, and in many of these cases, indictment must follow impeachment.

Sympathy for the devil only goes one way.  The devil does not play by the rules.  He stands against them.

Where do you stand?

What is Bradlee Dean going on about?

When you compare your ideological opponents to the Devil, you’ve lost me. Why not just trot out the “worse than Hitler” meme?

“God’s moral Law found in Exodus 20”

I really don’t think we want to use Exodus as a foundation for civil law, since we would have to discard all of our laws on physical assault as being overly onerous to those with domestic help:

    Exodus 21:20-21
“Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.

    • That’s sad that you get lost, because when someone is doing the work of Satan, a comparison is legitimate.

I don’t know how familiar you are with the “Sympathy for the Devil” song, but it’s basically stating that a lot of the evil that Satan gets blamed for was perpetrated by men. While that’s true, it would be asking a bit much for the Rolling Stones to be very deep, theologically. True, the vast majority of evil done on earth is done by human beings. However, all that evil came after Satan tempted humanity into joining his rebellion against God, and Satan is no doubt very pleased by all the suffering and destruction being carried out here on earth.

So the Devil gets no sympathy from me, regardless of whether his fingerprints on the deeds are literal or only figurative.

Regarding Exodus, you should note that Dean cited Exodus 20, which contains the Ten Commandments, not the entire book of Exodus or the Mosaic Law in general. A great deal of the Mosaic Law was moral, but a great deal of it was dietary and ritual in nature, to teach the nation of Israel important lessons about God’s nature and about our need as human beings to be clean and holy. Also, a number of penalties for immoral behavior are no longer necessary, since we are no longer under the Mosaic Law after Christ established the New Covenant. But everything that was a moral violation in ancient times remains a moral violation today; most everything immoral, you will find re-cited in the New Testament as immoral.

The Ten Commandments are a great foundation for civil law, especially for a nation like the United States which was founded by Christians on Christian principles. That is why you will find images of Moses the Lawgiver at the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., as well as images of the Ten Commandments at the Supreme Court. Until relatively recent attempts at Leftist historical revisionism, Americans have understood that God’s law is the foundation upon which American law and government rests.

  • You’ll find that most Christians still believe in “sabbathing” or setting aside a day of the week for honoring God, though most Christians since early New Testament times (you can find citations in Acts and Pauline epistles) sabbath Sunday since that was the day of Jesus’ resurrection. And if you’re old enough (as I am), you might remember that in America, it used to be that you would find virtually no businesses open on Sundays, because the culture almost universally honored the Sabbath on Sundays. There were laws against businesses operating on Sundays in many places.

And again, as I pointed out, there were many dietary, ritual and other requirements that were binding on Old Testament Israel that are no longer binding under the New Covenant. You can find Jesus pointing this out in several cases in the Gospels, and others in Acts (Peter being told about the obsolete dietary restrictions), and the Pauline epistles.

Regarding the foundation of American law, yes, virtually every civilization throughout history has understood certain major moral principles (because all human beings go back to people who knew and obeyed God, and as creations of God, all human beings have God’s law written on their hearts, i.e. the conscience). But America wasn’t founded by Muslims, Buddhists, or Hindu. It was founded almost entirely by Bible-believing Christians, which is why John Adams pointed out: “The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence, were…the general principles of Christianity”

The reason we have religious freedom here in America is that the founders recognized that while you can dictate actions, you cannot dictate religious fealty, or faith. And if people are going to be able to utilize their God-given religious freedom (even God doesn’t force people to worship him), there has to be freedom of conscience (something today’s Leftists are viciously hostile to, as has been evidenced countless times even in recent weeks on this website).

“Christian reconstructionists” have little to no credibility in Christian or conservative circles. The system established by the Christian fouders of our nation has worked incredibly well (it produced the most free, most prosperous and most powerful nation in all of history). Neither the founders nor conservatives of today seek a theocracy. Religious freedom on the foundation of our Christian principles is more than sufficient to maintain the greatest nation on earth.
