South Dakota Legislative Billwatch, Feb. 19, 2015

Capitol_committee_rmThese are some of the important bills being considered by the South Dakota Legislature today.

SB 180 deals with taxes for wind farms–a neat-sounding idea for energy, but one which has proven worldwide to be inefficient and not even close to being cost-effective.

SCR 5 is to support “a stronger South Dakota-China relationship.”  China is a brutally repressive communist country which censors information to its people, denies them religious freedom and other basic liberties, has taken aggressive action against the United States, has shown aggression against its neighbors in Asia, and has grown so powerful (through American trade dollars) that it will soon be a superpower able to fully challenge America.  I don’t think we need a stronger relationship with these belligerent thugs; rather, we need to back away from them, stop feeding them with our dollars, and insist they become a free nation before we are involved with them in any way. It’s never a good idea to get in bed, or get in a closer relationship in any way, with evil people, and evil people run China.
