Rep. Bridenstine: I Won’t Support Boehner for Speaker

Yes, we’ve tried (and failed) to get rid if RINO Speaker of the House John Boehner before.  But the effort to replace Boehner is gaining steam and getting popular resonance I’ve never heard in the past.

As the Daily Caller reports, 60% of Republican voters are ready to give Boehner the boot:

Sixty percent of Republican voters would prefer that John Boehner not be elected speaker of the House next week, according to a new poll moving around conservative circles Friday.

The poll — conducted by Caddell Associates and commissioned by the People’s Poll — shows just 25 percent of Republicans supporting Boehner’s re-election in the formal vote on the House floor.

Fifteen-percent of those polled said they don’t know or are undecided about Boehner. The poll surveyed 602 Republican voters and independents who lean Republican and voted GOP in 2014.

Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK) also went on record today at the Daily Signal stating he will not support Boehner for Speaker. Bridenstine says he came to this decision because Boehner and his fellow RINOs gave away the House’s constitutional “power of the purse,” and did so with so much at stake:

Ted Cruz 2016

The Constitution requires the president to faithfully execute the laws of the United States. He has refused to enforce the laws on border security, Obamacare, illicit drugs and the release of detained terrorists. His activism in his last two years has accelerated to include executive amnesty, initiating international climate deals without a treaty, and establishing an embassy in Cuba without consulting Congress. When our Constitution is under assault and House Republicans give away our constitutional power of the purse, they share the guilt of abandoning our founding principles.

The CR/omnibus legislation sufficiently undermines the checks and balances enshrined in the Constitution that it warrants my pending vote against the speaker. John Boehner went too far when he teamed with Obama to advance this legislation. He relinquished the power of the purse, and with it he lost my vote.

Bridenstine was also interviewed about this on the Rush Limbaugh show this morning by fill-in host Erick Erickson of RedState. Bridenstine didn’t sound like the extremist maniac RINOs would like people to think are the only ones who want to replace feckless “Republican” leaders. Despite being an Iraq-veteran fighter jock, Bridenstine was a mild-mannered, soft-spoken and reasonable voice for doing what is right and stopping messing around while our country is on the line.

In other words, he’s just another good American who is fed up with our country being sold down the river by radical Leftists and limp-wristed “Republicans” who can’t or won’t find the anatomy within themselves to defend the U.S. Constitution and the principles which produced the greatest nation in history.

Since the American people put the House back in the hands of the Republican Party, we’ve seen our nation’s credit rating downgraded, we’ve had four years of worthless “debt deals” that have done little to nothing to deal with this out-of-control spending (the House has control over the nation’s purse strings, constitutionally, you know), four years of reluctance to do anything substantive to stop ObamaCare, four years of pandering to illegal aliens, four years of peddling amnesty from “Republicans,” of doing nothing about things like normalizing relations with Marxist hellholes like Cuba…four years of fecklessness.

When an issue gets prominence in the public square, the Left’s representatives march out and make it clear that they will not compromise with conservatives. What do the Right’s representatives (e.g. Boehner, Mitch McConnell) do?  They come out and “Uh…” a lot, and vacillate, equivocate, lay all their cards on the table right away, tell us what’s in their wallet, and show us a lot of noodle for “spine.” Yeah, real intimidating to the Left, isn’t it? A shady used car salesman would see these “tough nuts” coming a mile away wouldn’t he?  And so would a Leftist.

Now is not the time to be on the “we can’t” train. Now is the time to make things happen by getting on the “I think I can, I KNOW I can” train. If we won’t insist on what is right, who will?

America wasn’t established by milquetoast compromisers who said “We can’t” when it came to standing against tyranny. It was established by committed patriots who knew what was right, and despite their fears, took a stand for what they believed in.

America needs patriots like that today. America needs patriots like YOU.  Contact your representative TODAY (I already have) and ask them to vote against Boehner and for a Republican who is committed to advancing the Republican principles that are the same ones upon which our great nation was founded.
