Positive Spin on a Dangerous Behavior

Phil Jensen

spinThe Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has released its National Health Statistics Report on sexual orientation and health for 2013, and the results are interesting.

Needless to say, in the “mainstream” media, the pro-homosexual whitewash spin has already begun. The first I heard of the report was at noon Tuesday on the top-of-the-hour radio news update, and it was framed by the “mainstream” media (I believe it was CBS) that “gays are as healthy or healthier than straights.”

Having researched the issue of homosexual behavior thoroughly for the past 10 years or more for the articles I write, I knew immediately that this was total Barbra Streisand. After all, health reports from around the world, including the annual report from the CDC on AIDS every year, always show greatly elevated health risks for homosexuals in a variety of areas including HIV/AIDS, HPV, several other STDs, anal cancer, hepatitis, substance abuse, depression, suicide, substance abuse, domestic violence and more. Studies here in the United States and Canada have found that on average, the lifespan of homosexuals is 20 years less than that of heterosexuals.

So of course I went directly to the report, and sure enough, it was as I expected: the overall “conclusions” are based on self-reported (as opposed to hard evidence gathered and recorded in a clinical environment) answers:

NHIS is an annual multipurpose health survey conducted continuously throughout the year and serves as a primary source of health data on the civilian noninstitutionalized population of the United States (11). Data are collected by trained interviewers with the U.S. Census Bureau using computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI), a data collection method in which an interviewer meets with respondents face-to-face to ask questions and enter the answers into a laptop computer. When necessary, interviewers may complete missing portions of the interview over the telephone.

In other words, “How is your health?” “Oh, fine!”  Meanwhile, based on the clinical data available, most of these respondents are probably suffering from one or more ailments associated with their homosexual behavior that are seen much less frequently with heterosexuals.

Excessive smoking and drinking was admitted to by a large number of the respondents, but I saw none of the many other health risks that are found to be significantly more common in the homosexual community. I’m sure they didn’t just disappear overnight, and given that the health risks associated with homosexual behavior is one of the most closely guarded secrets of our government and the “mainstream” media, I’m sure word didn’t suddenly get out to the homosexual community to behave more safely.

Another area of interest from this report is that it found 96.6% of adults identified as heterosexual, with only 1.6% identifying as homosexual and 0.7% identifying as bisexual. In case you’re wondering about the “missing percent,” the report indicates they were “something else” and “I don’t know” type answers.

The reason this last part is interesting is that for decades, homosexual activists and their “useful idiots” have been trying to garner more sympathy for the homosexual agenda by inflating the number of people who are homosexual. While numbers have varied more and less, the average number thrown out there is usually about 10%.

Though as I pointed out earlier this survey is somewhat less than impeachable in its accuracy, these numbers would generally fall alongside the results of a survey conducted by Hunter College and commissioned by the pro-homosexual Human Rights Campaign a few years ago that found 2.9% of the population is homosexual.

One thing is for sure: in our Leftist Koolaid-drinking culture, you’ll almost never get the truth about anything regarding homosexual behavior unless you bypass the “mainstream” media and investigate for yourself. It’s hard to overstate how reprehensible that is, given the long list of dangers involved with this behavior.

Gays comprise about 2-3% of the population. You have to account for those who respond as “heterosexual” out of denial (as I would have done some years ago).

Yes, we account for a disproportionate percentage of HIV cases. There are two reasons for this. Women act as a restraint on heterosexual men. Straight men would be much more promiscuous if women were as sex-driven as men. The other reason is that certain forms of sex are riskier than others.

The gay community needs to re-evaluate its demand for sex without consequences and look for alternatives to its self-destructive behavior, just as the black community needs to figure out why black-on-black violence is as high as it is.

I personally don’t believe that these statistics mean there is something intrinsically wrong with being gay or black. It’s how you choose to live your life. Some characteristics (genetic or otherwise) just make it harder to live it well, that’s all.

    • The law of averages says there probably were some people who responded as heterosexuals even though they behave homosexually. But there were probably some who responded inversely; I’ve heard of young people especially, so caught up in being hip and trendy, that they’ll claim to be homosexual even when they aren’t. Besides, in our “in your face” aggressive pro-homosexual culture, there can’t be many people who would claim to be heterosexual on a CDC survey like this when they really weren’t. So I don’t think that factor would affect the overall number significantly.

It’s probably true that men in general would be more promiscuous if women in general were more promiscuous, and that greater promiscuity would almost certainly bump up the numbers significantly. However, reality is what it is, and perhaps that was by God’s design…with behaving homosexually going outside that design bringing all sorts of negative consequences with it including an unnatural greater promiscuity. Together, the sexes tend to balance each other out, and this is likely just one more way in which we were designed to bring balance.

You’re right that certain forms of sex are riskier than others. Obviously, doing things with certain parts of the body that were never designed to do those things, but also stepping outside norms is risky in and of itself, as it violates the design of the creator.

Yes, the homosexual community definitely needs to re-evaluate a great many things regarding sex. However, as alluded to above, getting the homosexual community to behave with restraint regarding sex goes against the very (fallen) nature of those involved, so it isn’t likely to happen.

The black community, on the other hand, does not commit violence purely as a consequence of their skin color, or as a consequence of bringing their skin colors together. The violence is as high as it is because elitist white liberals have sold the black community a fake bill of goods: “You were victimized in the past, and you can’t be expected to behave responsibly, so we’re not going to hold you as responsible was we would white people.” That has created a sense of enablement and entitlement to behave badly>

Unfortunately, the hyper pro-homosexual atmosphere of our culture is sending the same destructive message to homosexuals, making a bad problem even worse.

The best solution is to encourage homosexuals to behave according to our created nature, and to help those who want to change to make that change (as people helped me stop being a drunk once I wanted to stop being a drunk).

“I personally don’t believe that these statistics mean there is something intrinsically wrong with being gay or black. It’s how you choose to live your life.”
Being of a particular race does not inherently affect how one lives their life. Having same-sex attractions does, especially since one does not have such attractions without something having gone wrong in their life (any more than one would have addictions or other “non-mainstream” attractions).
