South Dakota GOP Resolution Against Illegal Immigration

Phil Jensen

trespassingWhile the resolution calling for the impeachment of President Barack Obama garnered the most immediate attention, there were several other noteworthy resolutions passed by the South Dakota Republican Party during the convention last Saturday.

One such resolution dealt with the illegal immigration problem, and it passed overwhelmingly.

11. Illegal Immigration

WHEREAS, Tens of thousands of children are being brought to the US borders illegally as a result of the president saying he will not turn away children,

WHEREAS, Many children have risked their health and safety to come here, plus have brought diseases, and need attention to provide their most basic needs, due to the policies of the Federal government as ordered by the president,

WHEREAS, If these children are given amnesty, their parents will want to re-unite with them further adding to the tremendous burden caused by illegal immigration,

WHEREAS, These children will need food, housing, clothing, education, medical care, and countless other services for basic sustenance due to the Federal policy not protecting our borders and not enforcing our laws,

WHEREAS, With the threat of terrorism, and drug cartels coming across the border from 27 other nations through Mexico, not protecting our borders poses a major threat to the security of our citizens.

WHEREAS, The Department of Homeland Security/Immigration and Customs Enforcement released 35,000 illegal immigrants who were convicted criminals most of which are a threat to the security of our citizens;

THEREFORE, be it resolved that the South Dakota Republican Party encourages our elected officials to enforce our immigration laws, and protect our borders, before any additional amnesty and/or immigration reform is considered.

While illegal immigration has been a big problem for some time, it is only growing worse as evidenced by the latest influx of children coming across the border in response to President Obama’s and RINO collaborator’s strong signals that they are eager to allow illegal alien children to have amnesty and award citizenship to them.

Let us hope some of the RINOs who were at the convention were paying attention and will finally stop pushing lawlessness on our state and our nation.
