Rand Paul: Now Selling Out on Voter ID

According to Jeremy Peters at the New York Times via Hot Air and Yahoo News, Senator and 2016 presidential hopeful Rand Paul (R-KY) is flip-flopping on voter ID.

Peters reports

It’s offending people,” Paul said.

Oh my. Heaven forbid we offend anyone! Especially offending them with what is right and what maintains law and order!  We wouldn’t want to do that.

Rand Paul is getting awful good at selling out GOP values and principles in 2014.

First he called for GOP surrender in the culture war and just allow the Left to finish destroying the moral foundation of our republic.

Then he started pandering to the illegal immigration crowd.

Then he adopted a “nonchalant attitude” on abortion.

Then he endorsed RINO Susan Collins.

He’s becoming a gold-star RINO, maybe bucking for the RINO chairmanship.

Or perhaps it isn’t that he’s selling out.

Maybe he’s just decided that it’s a good idea to let some people vote for other people (including dead people, people who won’t be voting, etc).

Maybe Rand Paul thinks that even though people must show an ID to fly, take out a loan, cash a check, and dozens of other things, it’s too burdensome to require they prove their identity to vote…or maybe a vote just isn’t as important as writing a check.

This is just one more reason why we need to be electing SOLID conservatives to federal positions who have a PROVEN record of conservatism.

If a (formerly) Tea Party-backed Republican like Rand Paul will so cravenly sell out to the Left, can you imagine how quickly it would happen for a shameless liberal sycophant like Mike Rounds? (Hint: It already HAS happened, in state government).

I have about as much use for Rand Paul as I do for Romney, who just supported the ridiculous federal minimum wage hike proposed by Obama.
