Rand Paul Endorses RINO Susan Collins

Breitbart reports that Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) is endorsing RINO Senator Susan Collins (R-MN).
I wholeheartedly endorse Senator Collins for re-election. I think she’s doing a great job for Maine and for the country.
Some people are defending this action because Collins has no primary opponent, under the claim that “he’s endorsing her over the Democrat” not over a real Republican.
Fair enough. But look at the language. There was no tepidness to his response that one might expect from a dedicated conservative who really opposes the betrayals RINOs like Collins perpetrate against the GOP and the country.
He “wholeheartedly” endorses her, and says she’s not just doing “alright” or “good” but a “great job” for her state and the country. She’s not doing even a good job for either one.
She has pretty lame scores from many conservative policy organizations including Americans for Prosperity, Heritage Action, Concerned Women for America, Eagle Forum, FreedomWorks, Club for Growth, American Family Association, Gun Owners of America, Family Research Council, National Taxpayers Union and more. Meanwhile, she has some pretty good scores with liberal outfits like the National Education Association and the pro-homosexual Human Rights Campaign.
Even though he’s endorsing Collins over a Democrat and not over a real Republican, you’d still be hard pressed to find many committed conservatives who would use such glowing language about someone who has clearly and repeatedly betrayed Republican values and principles–and along with them, America herself.
When you consider this alongside Rand Paul’s recent pandering to the illegal immigration crowd and reticence on ending the slaughter of innocent children, it doesn’t look good at all.
This is just more evidence that Rand Paul, someone I once considered supporting for president in 2016, has sold out his Tea Party values on the altar of pleasing the RINO establishment.
He has had a pretty good voting record since the Tea Party helped him get elected in 2010. But if he’s going to put his voting record in sync with his rhetoric, expect his votes to get a lot more liberal in the days to come.
