McConnell Claims of Conservative Agenda Fall Flat

McConnell_downGood post at Hot Air regarding Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s lukewarm appearance at CPAC today.

Ignoring for a moment that CPAC never should have invited this scheister in the first place, Hot Air has the whole story and the appropriate response to the headline “Mitch McConnell at CPAC: If you give me a Republican majority in the Senate, I won’t let you down”.

Spoiler alert: He’ll let us down.

How do we know? Because he always has.

In fact, his brigade of gutless Senate “Republicans” profoundly failed the American people back in October when they had a golden chance to work with the U.S. House and defund ObamaCare. Instead, they showed infinitely more interest in fighting Republicans who wanted to stop ObamaCare.

I was there in Washington D.C. in late September, and I heard him from the Senate Gallery arguing against the effort to defund ObamaCare. He’s not fooling me for a nanosecond.

And let’s not forget about amnesty and other sellouts of Republican principles.

Have you ever heard the saying “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much“?

McConnell has proven himself completely untrustworthy with his minority leadership in the Senate. Why in the world would we be stupid enough to trust him with majority leadership when he squandered what he was entrusted with?

There’s a better alternative: Help elect Matt Bevin in Kentucky and oust McConnell, throw out the rest of the establishment Republicans up for election this year, get rid of a bunch of Democrats in the general election and replace them with some Republicans who are interested in behaving like Republicans, and appoint Ted Cruz Majority Leader.

That’s the only way we’ll get conservative leadership in the Senate.
