Jan. 27 South Dakota Legislative Billwatch

SD_HouseThere are several bills on the watch list at American Clarion which are coming up for consideration either in committee or in the full State House in the next few days.

There are bills dealing with domestic issues, and while we all want to stop violence in the home, sometimes these bills are hijacked by Leftists to push their social agenda, so we have to watch closely and be very careful with such legislation.

We also have a bill to allow South Dakotans to obtain a concealed carry permit without having to pay a fee. After all, should you have to pay a fee to exercise your right to free speech, religious expression, or be free from unlawful search and seizure?

There are also several education bills, including some that deal with Common Core education standards.  A bill to stop Common Core standards in South Dakota is expected to be submitted later this week, and a group from Rapid City and Sioux Falls (and perhaps elsewhere in the state) are going out on Wednesday in support of legislation which slows or stops Common Core standards.
