The Rapid City Journal is reporting that South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard was in Rapid City yesterday to “defend” the Northern Beef scandal. From the governor’s statements, it seems he is having serious doubts about the efficacy of several things the state has done, including investing millions of dollars of the taxpayer’s money in enterprises that fail, and in seeking foreign investments from communist countries. Meanwhile, supporters of former governor Mike Rounds, who was in the governor’s office when this mess was created, continue to demonize anyone who wants answers about the whole affair.
