The College Republicans at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology have invited the confirmed GOP candidates seeking a spot in the U.S. Senate to a debate to be held on the university campus. The debate will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in room 204 of the Classroom Building.

Do mongooses and cobras try to compromise and work together? Did the Allies and the Nazis try to “find common ground” and work together? Do opposing football teams try to “find a mutually agreeable conclusion”? Then why should Republicans expect to work with, find common ground with, and compromise with Democrats?

No one wants dangerous wack-jobs to be armed. Yet there are some issues with keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous nuts that clash with the right to keep and bear arms that should still still be afforded to people with relatively minor and benign mental and emotional issues. We must be very careful that in our efforts to maintain public safety, we do not trample the God-given rights of the American people.

This is the question, of sorts, I recently posed to a local businessman. As I indicated in my last commentary, I have embarked on an enterprise that I believe offers a modern example of what Jesus meant when he told his disciples to “seek first the kingdom.”

ObamaCare promotes irresponsibility in many ways. First and foremost, it encourages people to look to government to take care of their needs rather than expecting people to take care of their own needs (you know, the traditional American way). But it also promotes irresponsibility in the very way it’s being marketed.

Polls are showing new lows in popularity for both President Obama and ObamaCare. As the reality of the miserable failure of big government sets in, people disapprove of both more and more.

Following media reports that the Obama administration is once again trying to find a way to exempt unions from ObamaCare’s numerous taxes and mandates, U.S. Senators John Thune (R-S.D.), Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), and eight of their Republican colleagues today introduced the Union Tax Fairness Act (S. 1724), a bill to prevent union health care plans, known as Taft-Hartley plans, from being exempted from the ObamaCare reinsurance tax.

Upcoming events in the Stace Nelson for U.S. Senate campaign, including a U.S. Senate candidate forum in Rapid City on Thursday, Nov. 21. The forum will be at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Classroom Building, is sponsored by the SDSM&T College Republicans and hosted by South Dakota Citizens for Liberty.

They are the Arabs who call themselves Palestinians. But there is no such thing as a Palestinian people; no such thing as a Palestinian history; and no Palestinian language exists. There has never been any independent, sovereign Palestinian state in all of recorded history – let alone an Arab independent state of Palestine.

Impeaching President Obama would be an uphill climb in our present political environment. So, that means we all just sit down and shut up? I understand that we are not only battling the communist Democrats, but also the “establishment” Republicans, for the constitutional soul and foundational freedoms of our nation, and I also know that none of these people will make such a move against Obama. But, if we can miraculously overcome Democrat election and voter fraud in the 2014 midterm elections, we could re-take the Senate and hold, or even make gains, in the House.
