Freedom is more than removal of external barriers of oppression and limitation. It demands that individuals personally adopt principles of truth and virtue so that they may govern their own lives and live successfully with others. The loss of this perspective has cost black Americans economic progress. Now our whole nation flounders as more Americans of all backgrounds turn to government and political power for answers rather than freedom and personal virtue and responsibility.

The Relentless Liars
My ministry set up a booth at the Minnesota State Fair August 22 – Labor Day, as we have been for several years. Within hours of the fair opening, a local media outlet stalked the members at my booth in a lame attempt to twist the truth about my ministry. A new poll shows that a majority of Californians are poised to reject a law that opens public school showers, bathrooms and locker room facilities to students of the opposite sex based on “gender identity.” The poll conducted by SmithJohnson Research for the Privacy For All Students coalition showed that 51% of voters oppose the recently-enacted law (AB 1266) while only 34% support it.

“Not cooperating means the states’ taxpayers will pay for this and the money will to go someone else, somewhere else.” That was former President Bill Clinton’s take on 27 states that are not implementing state exchanges under the new health care law, speaking at his presidential library. He accused them of “leaving money on the table,” as if they were somehow missing out on something. Yet, if anything, not implementing the exchanges is saving these states money.

He looks back at when Social Security was originally proposed as authorized under the “General Welfare” clause of the Constitution. During the rein of socialist FDR, the court eventually “came to see things” FDR’s way, perverted the enumerated powers into the unlimited powers, and essentially gutted the U.S. Constitution’s protection of American liberty.

With their lawlessness moral relativity and socialistic, big-government/ nanny-state ideology, the Left says, “We are right!” With their compromise of core values and lack of rooted principles, the Moderates say, “We are right!” With their morally conservative principles and small-government philosophy, the Right says, “We are right!”
