Dr. Annette Bosworth, candidate for the United States Senate, will host a roundtable conversation with other South Dakota physicians to discuss ObamaCare’s impact on their practices and patients. The roundtable will focus on the growing concerns of rising health care costs, impact on ability of South Dakotans to receive superior care from their physicians, and Dr. Bosworth’s pledge to defund Obamacare.

The headline writers and political spinners will celebrate an unemployment rate of 7.4 percent, even though they know this does not reflect the millions of people who have simply dropped out of the economy since President Obama took office. What they aren’t likely to tell you is that the percentage of Americans participating in the workforce has dropped to its lowest point since 1981. Congress needs to take immediate steps to end the regulatory attack on the jobs Americans need, starting with ObamaCare.

Everyone agrees education is important, but who should be making the decisions regarding your child’s experience? Should parents? Local school boards? The state? The federal government? A combination thereof? Common Core State Standards elevates these questions to pressing importance, and South Dakota is moving rapidly toward implementation in our schools across the state. Importantly, Common Core affects EVERY child in South Dakota, whether they attend public school or not.

On July 18, 2013, Detroit filed for bankruptcy, the largest municipality in U.S. history to do so. Corporations go bankrupt for a wide variety of reasons. The business may have been selling a product no one wants, lose to superior competition or fail because of poor financial management. However, a government doesn’t have competition or sell a product. The only reason it could go bankrupt would be poor financial management.

We are witnessing the convergence of multiple mistake streams combining into one river of destruction. America has been dumbed down so far, it is acting stupid. We have been assaulted by so many outrageous actions we are becoming numb. The loss of historical perspective forces people to live in the now, and the now can always be changed. The lack of intellectual understanding causes people to rely upon emotion, and emotions can always be swayed.
