What is the source of our rights as recognized by the Declaration of Independence? What does the UN recognize as the source of our rights? Are they the same? Are they compatible? If not, how does this affect the right of parents to oversee the education and welfare of their children? There may be some serious problems ahead.

Would that we had more men like Washington and Jefferson in office today. Instead, we have a veritable pantheon of self-seeking, self-interested egotists unable to resist the siren song of corruption. A glaring example of this pervasive problem may be found in the Old Dominion. Virginia governor Bob McDonnell is under fire for playing the oldest game in the book: accepting gifts in exchange for political access and favors.

In a bizarre and ludicrous attempt at “transparency,” the Obama administration has announced that it asked a secret court to approve a secret order to allow the government to keep spying on millions of Americans, and the secret court has granted its request. As a sign of just how disconnected and out-of-touch with reality those in the Beltway are, National Intelligence Director James Clapper actually suggested that declassifying and publicly disclosing the government application was a show of good faith by the government.

The policy of appeasement, no matter it’s obvious failings, always seems to find new adherents. President Obama gave such a policy renewed vigor with his Cairo speech. And now it is the United States government and its present Secretary of State John Kerry who, as Binyamin Netanyahu earlier wrote about Great Britain, is wooing the Arabs, especially those who now call themselves Palestinians; the same Arabs, who in the past affectionately called Hitler, Abu Ali.

The evidence was clear. The truth was plain, and it had nothing—nothing—to do with race. George Zimmerman acted in self-defense when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, and the defense did not even use Florida’s “stand your ground” law to make its case. Martin was the aggressor and was beating the crap out of Zimmerman. At that point, afraid for his life, Zimmerman had no choice but to use his gun. Despite the fear the women of the jury may have had at the knowledge of what a “not guilty” verdict might bring from the senseless people in our nation, based on the compelling evidence in the case, the ladies had no choice but to acquit.
