The evidence was clear. The truth was plain, and it had nothing—nothing—to do with race. George Zimmerman acted in self-defense when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, and the defense did not even use Florida’s “stand your ground” law to make its case. Martin was the aggressor and was beating the crap out of Zimmerman. At that point, afraid for his life, Zimmerman had no choice but to use his gun. Despite the fear the women of the jury may have had at the knowledge of what a “not guilty” verdict might bring from the senseless people in our nation, based on the compelling evidence in the case, the ladies had no choice but to acquit.
