The is a very good example of why Americans should embrace conservative principles. Detroit was destroyed by the liberal principles the city followed for decades.

In 1960 Detroit had the highest per capita income in the United States. Its prosperity was fueled by the engine of fee market capitalism at the time, the automobile industry. However, liberals were simply unable to accept success and the unequal sharing of the blessings that come from capitalism.

They set about to rigorously enforce the “feel good” solutions of liberalism. The system of free market capitalism was replaced with union control of the automobile industry and numerous progressive liberal policies were established to redistribute wealth and make things fair for all, not just the hard working successful people. Of course, extensive borrowing was required to fund the out of control excessive spending.

And now after they have run out of “other people’s” money and nobody is willing to extend them any more credit we can see the effects of this wonderful liberal utopia. Progressive liberals have been able to rid themselves of their dreaded scourge of the “unequal sharing of the blessings” and replace it with the equal sharing of the miseries. They have gone from the highest per capita income in the US to what you see in the videos, all courtesy of LIBERAL PRINCIPLES.

The sad thing is that Detroit’s present is America’s future unless Americans are willing to face to cold hard truth that liberal principles simply don’t work.
