Another Airman Punished for Violating Political Correctness

As we knew they would, the stories are starting to pile up of problems within the U.S. Armed Forces in the wake of the Democrat congress’ decision to force open homosexual behavior on the military.  We’re seeing everything from homosexual sexual assaults to hostility toward anything that acknowledges our nation’s Christian heritage to banning material that isn’t approved by liberals to punishing military personnel for acknowledging the law.

The latest example of this last bit comes to us from TownHall.com about a 27-year veteran being punished for speaking in favor of the law and pointing out that the law was being violated by other military personnel.

From TownHall.com:

Last December Wilson wrote a letter to a person believed to be a chaplain at West Point. He stated his displeasure at news of a same-sex ceremony held in the Cadet Chapel.

“This is wrong on so many levels,” Wilson wrote. “If they wanted to get married in a hotel that is one thing. Our base chapels are a place of worship and this is a mockery to God and our military core values. I have proudly served 27 years and this is a slap in the face to us who have put our lives on the line for this country. I hope sir that you will take appropriate action so this does not happen again.”

Instead of responding to the private email, the Commandant of Cadets notified the Utah Air National Guard – leading to an accusation that he had brought disgrace and discredit upon the Air National Guard and his conduct was inconsistent with the United States Air Force.

The Air National Guard determined that Wilson’s email “failed to render the proper respect to a commissioned officer.”

“You are hereby reprimanded,” read a letter from Lt. Col. Kevin Tobias. “As a noncommissioned officer you are expected to maintain a standard of professional and personal behavior that is above reproach. You have failed!”

As someone who served for 10 years in the military, I find it “interesting” that the military standard has so changed under our current president that we have come to the place where speaking positively about morality and abiding by the law are considered disgraceful, unprofessional and of bad personal behavior…while sodomizing one another and breaking the law are considered “professional” behavior.

The “professionalism” expected of military personnel has sure gone down hill since I got out–down hill into the gutter.

Wells said his client’s only “crime” was registering his opinion that a gay marriage in a military chapel was a violation of the law that existed at that time.

“His actions were proper within the scope of the Uniform Code and the Manual for Courts-Martial,” Wells said. “While his interpretation of the law may or may not have been correct, his actions should not have given rise to the firestorm of reprisals that he has suffered.”

Wells said he believes the military is trying to send a message to other troops- and incidents like this are just the “tip of the iceberg.”

“They’re trying to make examples of people early on who have religious beliefs that homosexual conduct in the military is wrong,” he said. “When these people assert their First Amendment rights, they are getting slapped down and slapped down hard.”

It should be noted that back in December, the U.S. Supreme Court had not yet rendered its unconstitutional urination on Section 3 of DOMA, which means that even if we accept the idea that the U.S. Supreme Court is authorized to usurp the legislative branch’s role of lawmaking, that decision was NOT in effect in December 2012. Section 3 of DOMA was still in force, making it a crime for these marriage counterfeiters and any military personnel who joined in the counterfeiting to use federal government facilities to engage in the counterfeiting of marriage.

It was clear long before the morally bankrupt Democrats took our nation and our military down this road that the consequences were going to be harsh. We knew soldiers who disagreed with homosexual behavior would be punished. We knew that two diametrically opposed systems of morality (the hedonistic liberal one and the Christian worldview upon which our nation was founded) could not coexist and that people who believe in moral behavior would be forced to surrender to those who demand the “right” to behave immorally publically. We knew military personnel would be reeducated to accept the indefensible, or hit the highway. We knew religious freedom would be trampled.

This continuing preference for immorality and persecution of anyone who disagrees will continue to degrade morale and unit effectiveness, drive the best of our military personnel out of our armed forces, until our armed forces becomes a shadow of its former excellence, and the very safety of our entire country is on the line. You cannot promote license and embrace a culture of reprobates, and still expect a culture of excellence.

The lesson will be costly…and it will be bloody. And it’s already costly for military members of good moral fiber.

Well said, Bob. Our current situation is truly horrific. Who could have ever believed that the most powerful, efficient military in history could be brought down, not by Nazis, Soviets, or Bamboo Curtain enemies, but from within, through homosexual activists? And this they’ve almost done.

The lynchpin argument of the sodomite hoards trying to conquer the military several years ago was that it would not affect military readiness or discipline by causing disruptions and other disturbances in the branches. They concocted a bogus “survey” given to service members, the results of which were massaged, misrepresented, and largely ignored. You’d think that they would have designed into the resulting legislation an escape hatch in the event that if the numerous warnings given by sane legislators and officers did, in fact, materialize, the legislation could be voided. Of course, that possibility was completely out of the question - the military would comply or be destroyed.

    How’s that for America loving?

  • During my three years in the Army (69-72) morale was often low because of the unpopularity of the Vietnam war and the fact that over half the active duty force were draftees who did their duty but wished only to get back home alive. Low morale causes dissension, disrespect, disorder and depression. Our all-volunteer military brought a force of warriors who were committed, highly disciplined and frighteningly effective. Now, all that is being scrapped rapidly by Obama and his minions, many of whom are career officers that are unwilling to speak up for fear of losing rank and their pensions.
In five years (probably less) the US military will be a weak, effeminate parody of what was once the greatest, most moral, most disciplined fighting force in the history of man.
As distressing as all this is to me, I am thankful that most WWII vets were spared the disgrace of seeing what their children and grand children would do to their proud heritage.

For years I read prophesy of the end times and speculated how America fit into the narrative. We are told that Israel will fight alone against the evil powers that come together to destroy her. I wondered where the US would be during this time…surely we would never abandon Israel. I think I see now that we will be too weak, even if we were willing, to come to the aid of Israel on that day.

We believe there is something no one is presenting about this case….

That is, after digging further into this story and going to Wilsons Face Book page, we found that TSgt Layne Wilson probably did not originally contact Fox News about the religious freedom aspect of this story, but about the fact his cancer stricken wife had just been cut off from her health care over some very possibly illegal bureaucratic BS related to his veterans insurance benefits provider…….

    http://lezgetreal.com/2013/07/anti-gay-hype-in-layne-wilson-story-hides-real-heartbreaking-story/

Instead of playing Wilson for your own ends…. you might want to get out there, find out what is going on and try to really help a vet who seems to be in serious trouble…..

As LezGetReal has on its editorial board not only military veterans, but members of multi-generational military families, we have the greatest sympathy for Layne Wilson’s fight to save his beloved wife, despite his views on Same-Marriage and gays serving in the military.

If Wilson had brought this story to us, we would have raised hell… and now that we know, we will do whatever we can to see those benefits are restored to him.

No veteran of our armed forces, no matter how he has separated from the military, no matter his politics, no matter his religious views, should ever have his benefits endangered over a BS insurance company policy that he was challenging.

Fox News has done this man a great disservice by not reporting what should have been the real story – a vet in trouble and desperately needing help.

Hopefully someone can help right this wrong. We pray that his wife can resume her cancer care in time to save her life.

From our veteran’s great-grandfather’s New Testament, which he carried into war:

Matthew 35-36: For I was an hungered and ye gave me meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; Naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

It is in this spirit of Christ that our hearts go out to Layne Wilson and his wife.

    • Any issues Wilson may have had with his insurance/health care for his wife in no way invalidates or takes away from the injustice being done to him for pointing out that the law was being broken by homosexual activists.

While the story of his difficulties with health care for his wife are very unfortunate, the attack on religious freedom within the military is one that affects far more people and is far more chilling for our nation in general.

Yes, the military has a chain of command. However, even among active duty personnel, there are certain times when statements of concern can be made to others-especially officials responsible for the area of concern-outside the chain of command.

What’s more, Wilson is in the Guard, which is a little different for both himself, his command structure, and his place within it.

You sound like a typical homosexual activist, trying to make light of the pro-homosexual assault on religious freedom being waged by this immoral, lawless Administration.

From both the Old and New Testaments, carried into war by countless soldiers going back to the American Revolution (where homosexual behavior was recognized as incompatible with military service http://www.dakotavoice.com/2008/07/homosexual-activists-try-to-rewrite-law-history/):

      - Genesis 2:24 Where God outlined his design for human sexuality: “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.”

      - Genesis 19 where men of Sodom wanted to have sex with the male angels, and it was called a “wicked thing”

      - Leviticus 18:22 “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.”

      - Leviticus 20:13 “‘If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable.”

      - Judges 19 In Gibeah where “wicked men” wanted to have sex with a Levite man, and it was called a “disgraceful thing”

      - Mark 10:6-8 Jesus reaffirms God’s design for human sexuality: “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one.”

      - Romans 1:26-27 where the Bible talks about “godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness” and says “Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”

      - 1 Corinthians 6:9 says, among other habitual sins, homosexuals “will not inherit the kingdom of God”

      - 1 Timothy 1:10 condemns “men who practice homosexuality”

In the spirit of Christ, our hearts go out to TSgt Wilson both for the health concerns of his wife, and because he is being persecuted for seeking to uphold the laws of God and man.

      • Lez Get Real

        Bob,

I do know Capt (ret) Sue Fulton (one of the wedding participates), she is a decent and honorable lady, who goes to her church in NJ every Sunday. She holds some very strong views on what her God tells her is right.

She also sits on the Board of Visitors at West Point and is very proud of her service and the fact she is a West Point Grad.

She is, in addition, the primary caregiver for her wife/partner of nearly 2 decades, who is stricken with MS.

But also knowing Sue, I am pretty sure she knew the stir her wedding at West Point would cause in the media.

And you know and I know, TSgt WIlson surly did know the stir his e-mail to a full bird in another branch of service, sent over 1,000 miles from his base would cause, especially if he signed it in his official capacity.

It also did not help that e mail landed on the desk of a Cheif of Chaplains who was only in the command at the USMA for 2 weeks, and who was still trying to prove herself.

In any case, I think you can you see TSgt Wilson and Capt Fulton really have a lot in common in many respects.

Nevertheless I did not come here to argue religion or politics, or the right or wrongs of this….

I just want to make sure TSgt Wilson and his wife are not falling throught the cracks in all this…. Because I’ve been there and done that and would never want to see another vet go through that.

So am thinking that, as vets, isn’t our duty to make sure that is not happening?

        • If she is living in open and unrepentant sin, as appears to be the case based on what you’ve said, then she is going to an apostate church and not a decent or honorable lady.

While her care for another human being stricken with MS is commendable, it does not make up for her immoral behavior, nor would it make up for the illegal use of government property.

It would seem that, beyond military service, TSgt Wilson and Capt. Fulton have little in common. One is dedicated to upholding the laws of God and men, while the other is dedicated to making a mockery of both.

Seeing that such things do not pass without the proper condemnation is the duty of every citizen.

          • Lez Get Real

            Bob,
I respect your right to say Capt Fulton’s is an apostate church, but I also respect Capt Fulton’s right to say it is not. You both have that right under the 1st Amendment, and its what we fought for you know.

As for her wedding being an illegal (or just a plain wrongheaded) use of government property…. there was a directive from the SecDef that said it was not.

When I was in Nam, there were a lot of directives from the SecDef I thought were pretty wrongheaded and possibly even illegal (especially when I was having rockets and mortars shot at my butt every night in Cambodia), but hey, as you well know, a SecDef directive is a SecDef directive, even when you don’t happen to like it much.

But in any case, it is our intention to reach out to those people on our contact list who may possibly be able help TSgt Wilson not lose his insurance coverage…. including Capt Fulton and any liberal senator we think could be of assistance here.

We are also willing to do more if we have to.

We hope you will do what you can do too.

            • Capt. Fulton indeed retains the right to lie and say that a church that would condone the open and public defiance of God’s clear law is not apostate, but the facts speak for themselves. The Bible makes it very clear in both Old and New Testaments that homosexual behavior is a violation of God’s design for human sexuality, and to attempt to warp God’s sacred institution of marriage with a counterfeiting ceremony is even more egregious.

The fact that the Secretary of Defense was himself in violation of the law does not excuse anyone else’s violation of the law. The law is clear: marriage can only be formed between a man and a woman, and even the U.S. Supreme Court realized this truth at the time it was violated. Therefore, the law was broken by all whow allowed the violation and participated in the violation.

If you want to help TSgt Wilson-and our country-you can stop defending violations of the laws of God and of the United States, as well as defend the freedom of speech and freedom of religion of our men and women in uniform. It doesn’t get much more despicable than to punish a soldier/sailor/airman/marine for telling the truth and bringing to light the breaking of the law.

              • Lez Get Real

Actually, the directive read that same-sex marriages could be performed on bases located in states where same-sex marriage is legal ( New York is one of those), and by a chaplain who’s religious views were are not in conflict with same-sex marriages if they so choose to do so and no one was forced to marry Capt Fulton to her partner. This is more then likely why Capt Fulton did not go the dedicated Catholic Chapel or Chaplain at the USMA, because THAT WOULD have been illegal as that Chapel was paid for with private funds, and it would be a violation of the Catholic Chaplains 1st Amendment rights to make him perform a service that was against his religious teachings. (And I am sure Capt Fulton had the greatest respect for those facts.)

Now Bob, Capt Fulton is an activist with quite a legal team behind her, so I am sure they went into this with all I’s dotted and all T’s crossed.Capt Fulton is after all a West Pointer and we taxpayers pay for that kind of attention to details.

But I also know your side of this issue did have more then a few activists West Pointers who were just as passionate about Capt Fulton NOT being allowed to use the Cadet Chapel as Capt Fulton was for it. They also had an equally capable legal team to Capt Fulton’s behind them.

I also know that since this wedding did not happen in a vacuum, being well announced prior, that legal team had plenty of time to check and recheck all of Capt Fulton’s I’s and T’s, as well. And did so.

Pretty sure because of the caliber of that legal team, they also went over the SecDef Directive allowing the use of military chapels for same-sex marriages with a fine tooth comb.

SO that poses a question Bob. Why do you suppose that if the West Pointers opposed to Capt Fulton marrying in the Cadet Chapel and their legal team thought this service was truly in violation of the law and they could have legally stopped it…. no one even attempted to do so?

                .

              • It doesn’t matter what state it was located in. The facility is federal property and the officials are federal officials, and DOMA prohibits the federal government from counterfeiting marriage or recognizing counterfeit marriages; even the U.S. Supreme court recognized this truth at the time the crime occurred.

Those who violated the law knew they would get away with it because the Commander in Chief has been violating the law left and right since he took office, including the highest law of our nation: the U.S. Constitution. When you know the Lawbreaker-in-Chief has your back, you have no fear of breaking the law, so long as he agrees with your lawlessness.

God help a nation whose chief law enforcement officer makes a mockery of the law. Actually, God won’t help such a nation because it doesn’t deserve it.

  • Lez Get Real

BTW…. as a 10 year vet to a 15 year vet…. you know how the chain of command works as well as we do… and I can bet you can imagine those calls from the one star at West Point to the three star in Salt Lake City asking just why a full bird under the one stars command was getting an e-mail like this from a TSgt under the three stars command.

  • I’m sure TSgt Wilson’s issues with his wife’s health care will be taken care of. After all, he has the written terms of his health care to appeal to in an environment where no one is out to hammer him or his wife’s medical care out of a vendetta against health care.

In the meantime, he is ALSO being persecuted by homosexual activists and their useful idiots because he (a) spoke up for moral truth and (b) spoke up for a United States law which upholds that same moral truth. He is being persecuted by a group of people who have repeatedly demonstrated they have no regard for God’s law or man’s law-a situation that truly leaves him hanging with little recourse in our politically correct world.

If you really want to help him, perhaps you could disavow your support of an immoral, unnatural and unhealthy sexual practice, and also condemn the activists who seek to punish him for telling the truth.
