Another Airman Punished for Violating Political Correctness

As we knew they would, the stories are starting to pile up of problems within the U.S. Armed Forces in the wake of the Democrat congress’ decision to force open homosexual behavior on the military. We’re seeing everything from homosexual sexual assaults to hostility toward anything that acknowledges our nation’s Christian heritage to banning material that isn’t approved by liberals to punishing military personnel for acknowledging the law.
The latest example of this last bit comes to us from TownHall.com about a 27-year veteran being punished for speaking in favor of the law and pointing out that the law was being violated by other military personnel.
From TownHall.com:
Last December Wilson wrote a letter to a person believed to be a chaplain at West Point. He stated his displeasure at news of a same-sex ceremony held in the Cadet Chapel.
“This is wrong on so many levels,” Wilson wrote. “If they wanted to get married in a hotel that is one thing. Our base chapels are a place of worship and this is a mockery to God and our military core values. I have proudly served 27 years and this is a slap in the face to us who have put our lives on the line for this country. I hope sir that you will take appropriate action so this does not happen again.”
Instead of responding to the private email, the Commandant of Cadets notified the Utah Air National Guard – leading to an accusation that he had brought disgrace and discredit upon the Air National Guard and his conduct was inconsistent with the United States Air Force.
The Air National Guard determined that Wilson’s email “failed to render the proper respect to a commissioned officer.”
“You are hereby reprimanded,” read a letter from Lt. Col. Kevin Tobias. “As a noncommissioned officer you are expected to maintain a standard of professional and personal behavior that is above reproach. You have failed!”
As someone who served for 10 years in the military, I find it “interesting” that the military standard has so changed under our current president that we have come to the place where speaking positively about morality and abiding by the law are considered disgraceful, unprofessional and of bad personal behavior…while sodomizing one another and breaking the law are considered “professional” behavior.
The “professionalism” expected of military personnel has sure gone down hill since I got out–down hill into the gutter.
Wells said his client’s only “crime” was registering his opinion that a gay marriage in a military chapel was a violation of the law that existed at that time.
“His actions were proper within the scope of the Uniform Code and the Manual for Courts-Martial,” Wells said. “While his interpretation of the law may or may not have been correct, his actions should not have given rise to the firestorm of reprisals that he has suffered.”
Wells said he believes the military is trying to send a message to other troops- and incidents like this are just the “tip of the iceberg.”
“They’re trying to make examples of people early on who have religious beliefs that homosexual conduct in the military is wrong,” he said. “When these people assert their First Amendment rights, they are getting slapped down and slapped down hard.”
It should be noted that back in December, the U.S. Supreme Court had not yet rendered its unconstitutional urination on Section 3 of DOMA, which means that even if we accept the idea that the U.S. Supreme Court is authorized to usurp the legislative branch’s role of lawmaking, that decision was NOT in effect in December 2012. Section 3 of DOMA was still in force, making it a crime for these marriage counterfeiters and any military personnel who joined in the counterfeiting to use federal government facilities to engage in the counterfeiting of marriage.
It was clear long before the morally bankrupt Democrats took our nation and our military down this road that the consequences were going to be harsh. We knew soldiers who disagreed with homosexual behavior would be punished. We knew that two diametrically opposed systems of morality (the hedonistic liberal one and the Christian worldview upon which our nation was founded) could not coexist and that people who believe in moral behavior would be forced to surrender to those who demand the “right” to behave immorally publically. We knew military personnel would be reeducated to accept the indefensible, or hit the highway. We knew religious freedom would be trampled.
This continuing preference for immorality and persecution of anyone who disagrees will continue to degrade morale and unit effectiveness, drive the best of our military personnel out of our armed forces, until our armed forces becomes a shadow of its former excellence, and the very safety of our entire country is on the line. You cannot promote license and embrace a culture of reprobates, and still expect a culture of excellence.
The lesson will be costly…and it will be bloody. And it’s already costly for military members of good moral fiber.
