Brigitte Gabriel, President and CEO of ACT! For America and author of “Because They Hate”, spoke to a full house of around 500 people in Rapid City this evening at the Ramkota Convention Center. Gabriel was born and raise in Lebanon, a country which used to be a majority Christian nation in the Middle East before that nation became “ground zero” in Islam’s war against democracy and Western values. Gabriel has given presentations to distinguished bodies around the world including the U.S. Congress and the FBI.

President Obama and many of his supporters want to eliminate the 6 percent deduction just for American oil and gas companies, and allow every other manufacturer to keep their 9 percent. Whether you agree with the Section 199 Deduction or not, it was set up for ALL American manufacturers to utilize, not just specific companies that bureaucrats and politicians prefer. Industries are being singled out and treated unequally. And why is this? The simple fact that they are oil and gas companies.

Senator Ted Cruz was on Hannity yesterday, making the case for Republicans to go to the mat to defund the unpopular and unconstitutional ObamaCare. What was probably the best line: “I’m pretty certain that you lose 100% of the battles that you begin by surrendering.”

Who could’ve seen this coming? Well, those of us who can see the “logical” end results of the radical homosexual movement, that’s who. With homosexual activists on the march throughout our government, military, schools and society in general, many of us have warned that their push for special “rights” would—besides trample on the freedoms of speech, religion and association of those who oppose them—inevitably lead to demands by other sexual deviants, like pedophiles, for their own societal affirmation.

Sexual scandal is always an attention grabber, so it’s not surprising to see the media frenzy that has accompanied the latest revelations about NYC-Mayor-hopeful Anthony Weiner. It remains an open question, however, whether the American media will have the moral courage to condemn Mr. Weiner’s behavior or whether they will stick with the notions that Weiner’s actions merely bespeak “poor judgment” and that Weiner can’t be trusted because he lied that the behaviors at issue were behind him.

I see we have an ObamaCare surrender monkey here in South Dakota: Former governor and U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rounds. When asked by the Argus Leader about efforts in congress to fight ObamaCare, his most resolute response could be described as “lukewarm” at best, and in the end, he made it clear he wanted nothing to do with “symbolic” efforts to fight ObamaCare and regain America’s trust of the GOP.

As real Republicans like Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Senator Mike Lee (UT) crank up to block and defund ObamaCare, the GOP leadership has a strategy to deal with ObamaCare that is characteristic of the GOP’s overall strategy in recent years: surrender to Democrats without firing a shot.

The bombastic style of Governor Chris Christie may be welcomed by our sensationalizing media but such style sidetracks from his performance, particularly from a leadership perspective. I mean, how much of this “in your face” yelling can one take? At some point, Americans will yearn for the quiet resolve of a Washington.
