First came the 1857 Dred Scott decision. Next came the 1973 ruling in Roe v. Wade. Tragically, this past week we hit the unholy trifecta. A third precedential abomination was added to the mix. On Wednesday, the high court handed down two cases concerning the pagan left’s abjectly bizarre efforts to redefine the age-old and immutable institution of marriage (Hollingsworth v. Perry and U.S. v. Windsor).

Rule of Law Refused in California

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy Sunday declined to vacate Friday’s premature order from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit in the lawsuit concerning California’s marriage amendment. The Proposition 8 legal team filed an emergency application Saturday that argued the 9th Circuit’s order prematurely lifted a stay on a district court order that had declared the amendment unconstitutional.

PBS states other wise, but I wonder if they will seek to take legal action against the New Yorker magazine? Is There Rule of Law in California?

The legal team defending California’s marriage amendment filed an emergency application with the U.S. Supreme Court Saturday to vacate a premature order that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit issued Friday. Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys submitted the application to Justice Anthony Kennedy, the associate justice who decides such motions pertaining to the 9th Circuit.
